Jan 13, 2015 Okay so I might be speaking out of turn here, but why is MBDTF like the mecca of Kanye albums? I say Be by Common is way better. I could make the argument for Kendrick also.
Jan 13, 2015 A bit off point, but I've always felt that Late Registration was more of a collection of great songs than a very well flowing album, similar to what he was trying to do with Em. Not that it flows badly or anything (it doesn't), but when contrasted with MBDTF or College Dropout, h--- even Graduation, it's just not as cohesive as an album. Which isn't really too much of a criticism; the songs are so undeniably great and it flows well enough (minus some skits) that it doesn't really detract all that much.
Jan 13, 2015 I don't think you can do something like that with Drake but at my eyes GKMC >>> MBDTF MBDTF is an album with great production and some great features. That's it. GKMC touchs your hearth, not every disc can do that.
Jan 13, 2015 As a whole MBDTF is top 3 for me for sure but some individual tracks I don't really like that much. So making collections of songs by other artists best songs, ignoring it being cohesive, can be better imo
Jan 13, 2015 Heart Part 3 would take the album back to square one, mood-wise it's a dark track in which he's blowing off steam. After SAM/IDOT it's supposed to be the moment the album pivots, and that's where Real & Compton (first ever studio session with Dre) come in. Cartoon & Cereal could have been slotted in near the beginning.. not sure about Black Boy Fly though. You said on JCN, that 'Ronald Reagan Era' would have made a great outro for GKMC, I agree with that.
