    Things like this will keep happening imo. Not many people keep their wealth on them and if they did a bank transfer there would be a very clear money trail. Crypto's don't have that, so long as someone has their phone on them they have their bitcoins on them and it's all pretty much anonymous isn't it?

    Yeah I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how they were even remotely able to track these people down.

    I don't know it all too well but AFAIK it's like you can view a wallets trading history, or something similar to that, but the wallets don't actually show any of the persons personal information keeping them anonymous.

    Yeah, bitcoin isn't anonymous though is it, maybe thats why how they find out. The link someone else provided with the japanese hack, the guy was following them around watching the money being laundered to other accounts, its effin mental.

    @HODLGANG if any of you hold coins in Bitfinex and/or Tether, then I highly suggest getting them out now. If Bitfinex, transfer to another exchange. If Tether, then get them the f--- out and into a coin.

    ...obviously just my $0.02, but this Tether thing isn't looking good and is the sole cause for the crash that's happening right now. If it turns out that Bitfinex has been dumping coins into the market by way of USDT (Tether) that they don't have the funds to match then it could get pretty ugly.

    This ride has been too wild for me since the 10th Jan!

    Lost half my money and I'll lose another 20% of what I've got left in fees so if I pulled out now I'll just have chump change.

    Gonna leave what's left and maybe in a year or 2's time, if it's not zero, it might have matured.

    Gonna stick to stock investment from now on!

    Anybody who bought in above like 4k is gonna have a bad year lmao. Also, all coins are tied to the fate of BTC. Turns out the only difference is whose ship you go down on. The exchange you use is vastly more important. See: Kraken

    Dunno man. I think we will see a turnaround in March or April. However I do think it will continue to plummet for the next 4-6 weeks.

    I started with litecoin but have since sold and moved into alts. I recently bought more, wish I had caught that $105 dip this morning. I'd say if you're just starting on crypto start with some litecoin for the simple fact depending where you're buying from it'll send faster and have less fees than bitcoin if you eventually want to move it into alts. Just my 2 cents but I'm not sure the markets in reversal yet maybe wait for another dip.

    The founder of Litecoin sold all of his coins. To each their own, but I don't buy stocks of companies when the executive team doesn't have any skin in the game.

    I picked up a lot of BTC around $7700. Sitting on my last bit of fiat just in case there is another dip. If not, I already am far more invested in crypto than I ever imagined.

    I think 2018 is the year for decentralized exchanges, anonymous coins and masternodes. I also think BTC will touch 30k this year. Do you realize how much it has survived in the last 2 months? The entire banking system and several governments are doing everything they can to shut it down and it still is at 8500. At the same time, I am comfortable losing the money I have in crypto, but would be extremely pissed to see it fade away.
