    fyi: i spoke with a cpa who specializes in crypto today re: taxes:

    every buy/sell from coin to coin IS considered a taxable event and needs to be reported on your taxes as a short term capital gain. these are not like-kind exchanges. what this means is:

    1.) USD->BTC
    2.) BTC->XRP
    3.) XRP->ETH
    4.) ETH->XLM
    5.) XLM->LTC
    6.) LTC->USD

    2-6 are taxable events (the same would be true if $6 didn't exist and you never went back to fiat)

    to calculate the entry/exit profit/gains you need to identify what the cost of your entry coin was in USD at the time of entering as well as the cost of your coin was at the time of exiting your position. this is on you to calculate these.

    Litecoin back over 200. I had faith in it even when it seemed the market was failing and glad I held on. Litepay is officially being released February 26 so I would assume this will only help grow the coin. Ltc seemed to have jumped the most since the recent correction.

    Got back in it at 157. Wish i had loaded a few more up at 105 but I'm happy where I re-entered. Easily a 1,000 coin or more eventually.

    Good to see everything back on the up. Also very glad I never let go of my Litecoin. Although I don't own much it's still good seeing my money reaching back to an acceptable level.

    Loads of good news stories at the moment. South Korea looks like they are going back on their word of regulating it (prob a threat from N.Korea at the Olympics as this is surely the only money source they have!).

    European banks saying it's not their job to regulate it so will stay away until they believe the blockchain is something they want to work with.

    This whole Litecoin/Litecoin Cash thing is really interesting. @Slyk what do you know about this fork that's rumoured to happen on Sunday? How will it affect the coin and it's value? LTC Cash seems to be nothing to do with Litecoin yet it appears to come from a fork. Confuses me a bit!

    my understanding is that the coin/blockchain is NOT forking, but their open source code is being utilized into Litcoin Cash which they have no hand in, so their code is "forking" (terrible word to use for this imo) but their product is not..

    Yeah I read something about the fork where it said they’ll give you like 10 litecoin cash for one Ltc. Basically trying to scam you out of your litecoin for some s-----y cash replica. Or they might just steal your entire Ltc wallet in general. Once I found out the owner of litecoin has nothing to do with this Im definitely staying away from it

    lol that's a clever way of saying, "you can buy our coin using your litecoin".

    So it's essentially just another ICO using the Litecoin blockchain? Similar to the 100 odd coins that use Ethers'?

    i haven't done a ton of research but that's what i get from it all as well. the only difference is that they're posing as a Litecoin fork but in reality that's not the true case and it's not LTC-sanctioned.

    Yes, write it down. It's crazy that people store thousands of dollars online and don't take some basic security measures. I don't do anything fancy but I'm careful with how I access my accounts and where my seed (keys) are written down.

    It took 34 minutes for me to transfer BTC from Gemini to the Waves Platform. Should I feel good about that length of time? I thought it was going quicker in most cases but then I hear stories of it taking 8-12 hours. I also didn't pay any fee? How the h---? I received the exact amount I sent.

    Hahaha, I'm holding pretty steady but crypto has become kinda boring. My coins have constant news and updates but no significant movement.

    I just put 5k into this ICO: https://ticketsale.rewardmob.com/ Figured I would share. You can download the app and play the games before investing. I think it is going to be huge and they already have a working product.
