My timing is so bad. I sold all my bitcoin about a month/6 weeks ago. I bought at the peak stupidly so done nothing other than lose money but looks like I would've gained half of it back on this recent run.

    Pissed off!

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano. The top three legit coins.

Bitcoin went through its halving earlier this year, which means brace for the end of 2021. Haven't seen anything yet.

Ethereum will be coming out with 2.0, aiming to solve its significant congestion issues and ridiculous fees. And in addition, it'll introduce staking. Big moves for 2021.

Cardano will be the Apple company of cryptocurrency, meaning it'll put a lot of money into your pockets. Its major update, Goguen, will be fully implemented sometime in 2021.

So start packing your bags and wait a year or two from now. Cardano might take longer to mature, but this is a transformative coin and worth getting in on. Also look into Theta, because its a unique coin with a couple significant players behind it (e.g., YouTube and Twitch founders).

Forget all those shitcoins that YouTubers and other influencers talk about. They'll hype up a coin that no one's heard of, from some mediocre company with mediocre teams, so that their audience buys in. Translation: Price manipulation from a pump and dump scheme. Stick to legit, real coins that are bigger in scope than some temporary trend -- ones that will continue to be relevant years from now.

Keep in mind there's thousands of cryptocurrencies, many that are copies of a copy or backed by average-level developers with small-scale visions. Stick to the genius-level teams with big visions, because otherweise you'll end up with worthless coins completely forgotten about. Invest in a future Microsoft, or invest in a local dry cleaners, choice is yours. This is still the beginning of a new industry, and only the strongest coins will survive.

The whole cryptocurrency thing still intrigues me. I gave up on it because it hasn't seen any real world adaption and it's to unstable to be a real asset at the moment.

If it's only ever going to be something that people trade to gain wins then it's definitely not for me.

At the moment I see this as being just another fad that dies out eventually.

There are definitely vendors and real world businesses accepting bitcoin as a form of payment. I've seen a lot more options for crypto payment recently than I ever have.

Anyone significant? I live about a 20min walk away from the hipster/future-proofing/tech part of London and a few years ago ALL of that area were accepting payments with Bitcoin. Now none of them are. Round here it's got a whole lot less!

I'm still new to all of this but a lot of people think that it's going to continue to grow.

Apparently, any money you have in your traditional savings account is losing value every year due to inflation. They are printing too much money for pandemic relief.

Meanwhile Cryptocurrency outpaces the stock market, real estate, precious metals and any other investment vehicle in growth since it's inception.

I guess we'll see. I prefer getting on the train late than regret it in a few years from now if it explodes even more. I'm going to stick with Bitcoin or Ethereum and just put small amounts.

I keep thinking that I should have got into this several years back when a collegue at work talked to me about it.

Those who got in early must be rich right now.

    Imagine being this guy.

"On May 22, 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz completed the first documented commercial Bitcoin purchase, paying 10,000 for two Papa John's pizzas. Valued at $41 at the time, current market pricing today gives the purchase a $92.5 million price tag."
