D12 - Devil's Night Mixtape.

f--- the haters, i'm hyped for this. I pray for an Em appearance or 2 and an unreleased Proof verse but i wouldn't be pissed if it was just Bizzy, Kuniva and Swifty. Its great to see them hungry again and doing something with their lives. There should only be one winner here and that's the listener.

It was supposed to be released by now as a free mixtape, no idea when they plan on releasing it at this point

Em is smarter than people take him for, he's well aware of all the criticism towards him and his people

I'm keeping my expectations low for now, as I'll more than likely be dissapointed

Chances are it'll be similar to the 2010 one they did

I'm not worried about Em, I'm confident his contributions will be great

It's D12 I'm worried about. Bane was their first commercially released track in 9 years.. and they were bragging about how they made the whole mixtape in a day

*sigh*

I had no real hype for this, so I'm surprised to feel so deflated by the end of this tape. I can't think of any release more tainted with disappointment; although saying that, this is par for the course with D12. Everything this project promised or hinted at was watered down to pathertic levels: G Unit? Buck and Kidd Kidd. D12 and Slaughterhouse? Seperate appearances from Crooked and Royce. Devil's Night Sequel? Just a mixtape that stole its name. Eminem involvement? A tacked-on intro.

I feel bad for Swift and Kuniva. They're not terrible rappers, and there's some decent verses here. I don't think the mixtape is as bad as the hyperbole from stans implied. It's just incredibly insignificant. D12 is dead, key members are missing, and a mixtape every few years only serves to remind you of that.

As for Eminem... f--- him. It may have been rushed, but there is literally 0% chance he didn't have any material to throw on this project. For a guy who claims to be working in the studio every day, there is no excuse for his absence. It may have been good for him creatively to work on something less polished, and with old faces too. Shout out to Royce for throwing a bone when an actual group member does nothing.
