Krit is a better rapper than T.I. Not comparing their careers because that wouldn't be fair or realistically practical to.. I'm expressing my sentiments on that subject matter from a strictly technical aspect.

Omg stfu. TI's catalog is not perfect, you f---in' idiot. Sit the f--- down and observe his g.d. catalog before I bite your head off. People are so g.d. simple on this forum, I swear. Read between the lines, dumb f---.

In terms of the idiosyncrasies of Big K.R.I.T. that distinguish him from other rappers that he displays, he really can't be compared to anyone else. Neither can any "INDIVIDUAL" in any music genre. However, I was strictly basing it off of quality from their projects Big K.R.I.T. has consistently dropped heat for at least a year over half a f---ing decade. Give the guy credit. Yes, T.I. broke more ground. I get that. Not denying that. I'm not deaf. That happened during my f---ing adolescent year. My favorite T.I. album is Urban Legend. But King is a close second.

it just seems to me like ur nuthugging the f--- outta KRIT. what about him makes him so different lmfao i jus wanna know

cuz he just seems like ur typical conscious southern rapper to me. i could easily compare him to UGK, 8Ball & MJG, TI, etc., they make VERY similar music. KRIT isnt doing anything significantly different, he's just updating a classic southern hip hop sound for a modern generation. lyrically he isnt that innovative either. tons of f---ing southern rappers have made songs using a car as a metaphor and his deeper songs arent that unique from a lyrical standpoint. when it comes to concept albums, sure, he does make some cool stuff (i.e Cadillactica, 4evanaday) but again it isnt anything genre defining or essential enough for me to say that he's a GOAT, letalone put him above southern legends like TI, who have literally layed the groundwork for KRIT's entire sound and career.

in addition, while i do agree that KRIT has been relatively consistent over the past half decade or so, has he really broke any new ground progressively with each release? cuz from personally listening to his music over the years, other than a few minor kinks here and there, he hasn't really re-imagined or evolved his sound. he's been pretty stagnant on that front, granted all his output has been pretty great.

last but not least, i think that your claim that musicians cannot be compared to one another is total hogwash.

it just seems to me that ur just saying s--- and throwing praise at things that dont apply in this situation. feel free to correct me if u disagree.

not hating on KRIT, i actually love the guy and his music but your assertion seems a bit over the top.

With everything I said, understand I never said the guy broke ground. It's pretty much impossible in this day and age.

how is this not "breaking new ground"? u said it yourself bro. if he cannot be compared to anyone else (which i think he def can be) then he is obv breaking new ground somewhere.

why not? i think this is a very backwards attitude to have. music is constantly evolving and pushing forward with many artists (like Danny Brown, for instance) finding new ways to experiment and reinvent the genre. its definitely possible to break new ground, artists have done it and will continue to do it.

I don't know. Atrocity Exhibition is probably the only genre-pushing example in the mainstream sense that I can think of, so I guess you make a good point there. Plus, I personally love --- and Old. But that's just one artist. I'm proud to be from the same city as him. Barring that, there isn't many of those types of fearlessly unique and sometimes borderline awk-weird artist lurking in that realm of commercial bizarro-world.

what about GKMC? Acid Rap? Take Care? MBDTF? these are projects that influenced entire waves of sounds and pushed artistic boundaries in hip hop.

h---, even Flockaveli and Finally Rich are genre defining albums for rap that are relatively recent. yea the trap s--- we hear on the radio is oversaturated now, but when these projects came out they were completely new sounds

Chief Keef, Kendrick Lamar, Chance The Rapper, Drake, and Kanye are all very influential. Let's not forget Lil B either with I'm Gay and Pink Flame. Even the projects with The Pack that he started out with. I'm neither blind nor deaf. I agree. Maybe I'm just coming to grips with the fact that I'm insatiable. Ski Mask The Slump God is the most exciting artist of this generation and he is restoring the joviality that I feel Busta Rhymes brought Hip-Hop in The Late 1990's and Early 2000's. There's hope yet.
