No. Royce did. Eminem's trajectory until mid 2010 was pretty great or at least very hopefuly and then Royce showed back up and Eminem has been abysmal ever since.

D12 was there from the beginning. He didn't start making music with them in 2001 lol. Plus, Em was never too serious with his music. Sure he cared a lot but I don't think any other rapper really cared as much as Em cares anyway. If D12 was a bad influence on Em's music, his SSLP, MMLP or TES would have s----d too. h---, even the Devil's Night is a classic and it's a D12 album that many felt like Em was the best version of himself.

    This is delusional as f---.

His flow from 99-04 is incredible, even on Encore. He had a different flow to any other rapper that came before him and rode the beat effortlessly and perfectly with great rhyming and lyricism, especially from 00-03.

Rock Bottom s----s all over Castle and Arose, so does When I'm Gone, Beautiful, Deja Vu, Going Through Changes.. The last 4 way after his prime as well, and there's many more emotive songs of his that are better

Never heard prime Em telling a story better than Darkness? Take any story telling track off his first 3 albums and listen again

Music to be murdered by is a solid modern day Eminem album but we have to stop talking about him like he is anywhere close to where he was in his prime.. He's not, its straight up blasphemy to suggest so

Yea like, I hate when these stans on here y’all about, “well his technical skill is better than it’s ever been now.” Like wtf does that even mean? He can rhyme more syllables together than before? Who gives a f---. It’s music, not a f---ing puzzle.

That was the era of Rap crews and Em needed them. He also got props for putting his people on. If he hadn't done so, he more than likely would have been criticized for it. Em made goofy songs on his own too. It was mutually beneficial.

vood point that I never considered.
I remember Just Blaze said he told Eminem he needed to quit the accent & start making songs. Recovery was good although not aged great due to the production.

Since Royce came back. Eminem is treating his music like a sport not an art.

THis. Aside from the repeating content of love stories and drug stories, he is better technically than he ever was. His writing is a lot more better and even the flows that many had problem with are actually impressive as f---. I didn't hear prime Em having dozens of different flows over a beat like he did with The Ringer. I didn't hear prime Em delivering a personal story in a more genius way and more emotionally than Castle & Arose. I never heard prime Em telling a story such as Darkness. This recent Eminem is another prime Em. Just face it already...

Nah I'd argue they kept him grounded from going completely pop. He stopped associating with them around recovery, and look what happened. Imagine doing a pink solo song and getting absolutely roasted by your boys, it wouldn't happen

you guys disgust me, he finally has his life together and you want to destory it when he's currently making the best music he has ever made? side note, the d12 albums are just em having some fun. not as good as his last two albums but like, what's wrong with making something that doesn't take itself seriously?

100% a factor at Eminem's decline post 2010 but how much of a role that played is impossible to pinpoint. Royce was the SOLE reason for MMLP2 and obviously h---: The Sequel. Em said h---: The Sequel was how he delved into creating MMLP2. That record created various f---ing bad habits for Em that are still present to this day. It's rough because Revival sort of felt like Em trying to go back and recreate that same s--- Recovery had but failing miserably. Maybe that was his unconscious way of trying to recapture that 2010 magic he had?..We all know how those projects shaped Em's trajectory in various ways. I do believe Royce has helped Em at certain points since then but was it correcting bad habits he developed by reconnecting with him in the first place??? I really wish we could know where Em would have went if Royce and him never linked back up. Em did reconnect with Royce prior to 2010 because Slaughterhouse was in the background of 2009's Forever music video. Maybe it was more so creating h---: The Sequel when it comes down to it? I don't know.

Stan is his best storytelling song. I never said it you guys said it for years. Can't nobody tell me it's more impressive than darkness tho. Sonically, u can discuss because music is subjective but there is nothing to discuss when it comes to the lyrical ability and technical aspect. Darkness is easily better. Bonnie and Clyde is one of my favs but doubt it gets any recognition after all. That song is something special. The way he sounds on that track etc. I'm not saying there is a huge difference, I'm just saying the guy is better in some ways now and it's a fact. Since he was already perfect in his prime, it's pretty normal that somethings such as his flow or the way he sounds might not always be smooth as it was. But if you don't think songs like castle and arose are top notch em, no need to discuss. You are just another guy who kids himself about Eminem and stuck in the past. You wouldn't even admit it was a classic if em released tes today.

They didn't help. They're a bunch of cabdrivers who would never have amounted to anything without him and I think he felt more compelled than he should have to do s--- with them.
