Apr 4, 2018 I’ve always kinda felt he was disrespecting Dre with those lines. Dre clearly tried his a--- off on those beats and Em calls the whole thing trash. Would be fine if he made the entire thing himself.
Apr 4, 2018 Dawaun Parker & Mark Batson produced that album and they got written off after its reception. Dre did very little. edit: this is never talked about btw, no one knows who dawaun parker is but he's literally the main guy behind the good relapse beats https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...as-in-rare-creative-form-for-relapse-20090528
Apr 4, 2018 Well s---. I never knew that lol. You’re right though. I just looked and they both have writing credits on all songs except Beautiful.
Apr 4, 2018 Dre's had co-producers who probably did a lot of the work for forever by now. Scott Storch, Mel Man, DJ Khalil etc etc. He has undeniable skills in the mix though. No-one makes it sound better. Shame that Dre has pretty much quit releasing music. Recently watched "The Defiant Ones" and it's like a tragic story.
Apr 5, 2018 I wish we can get Em to know that the fans actually love Relapse. Maybe he would put out a similar project
Apr 9, 2018 I always thought it was more that when Eminem heard a Dre beat, it somehow inspired him to rap in accents and weird content post 2009. And he clearly knew people didn't want that after Relapse came out, so maybe he just avoided Dre beats on purpose?
Apr 11, 2018 Before Relapse drops : Eminem : "Relapse is my most important/funny album and where I had the most fun recording" (I honestly believe the last part is 100% true !) ........gets mixed to positive reactions........ One year after relapse dropped: "in fact lets be honest, the last Relapse CD was ehh'' ," f--- my last CD, that s---'s in my trash".
Apr 11, 2018 I don't know if em consciously dissed dre or anything, but Relapse is definitely some of Dre's best work. That album has potential to be the best album of all time based on its production value. The only problem with the album is literally that em GROSSLY overused those accents. And since then he's been on a strange journey to re invent himself, and some things work while others dont. It really sucks cause he hasnt been the same since. I wish someone could explain this to him and have him stop listening to critics, and just go back to not giving a f--- (with the exception of dropping the accents, those need to stay gone). Also, I honestly believe Relapse deserves to be re-done. Those dre beats were SOOO badly wasted. It hurts me to think about it.
Apr 11, 2018 I'm re listening to a buncha songs and its making me mad at how amazing the production of relapse is. This album coulda easily been ems best album by far. Why did dre disappear after this?? Edit: This is what should happen for real... Em and royce should make a bad meets evil album using all the beats from Relapse, and call the album Relapse from h---. Or make some play on words using relapse and remix..
Apr 11, 2018 The accents actually help Em flow better I think. Framed for example, 9 years after Relapse and he flows effortlessly on it, just like he did on all of Relapse.
Apr 11, 2018 His best flows were up to about the 50cent era. After that he started losing it a little bit, and after relapse it was a disaster. he never NEEDED the accents. One of his best songs after relapse was Almost famous. The bad meets evil album was quite good. But he's been on and off whereas before he was consistent. Edit: You know what else though? These days, constantly being fed this garbage mumble "rap" all the time, these accents dont sound so bad lol. Still not what i wana hear coming from Em, but in comparison this is godlike
Apr 14, 2018 ok so i got a theory and it kinda ties in with yours.. idk its a strech and maybe i just dont know who the track is directed at ? On the track Darkside/Gone there a little eminem references that i hear but they are like implications, non direct little jabs [Verse 2: Dr. Dre] Now please don't give me a reason, reason 'Cause I know you wanna keep breathing this evening I've been killing the game for seasons, believe him That I'm the motherfuckin' one to breed them and lead 'em In a league of my own You ain't even made it up to my throne You ain't even authorized for this song Might be best for you to get goin' Best be careful about your tone That s--- can hit me wrong and it's on I have tried my best to be calm Please don't make me grab that phone Now who you know who came this f---ing far From the f---ing bottom? Thirty years in this b---- and I'm still here Decade after decade And evidently I must be doing something right Word to my n----- Eazy [Interlude: Eazy-E] Eazy-E C-P-T OG from the other side (Eazy) From the other side (Eazy) kinda like how eazy missed him when he left? like eazy being dead justifies his point? then theres that hook...referencing INAD [Hook: Marsha Ambrosius] It's easy to say you need me When you got everything you want But It's hard for me to believe it You'll find out when I'm gone [Verse 3: Dr. Dre] I went from hanging out down at the swap meet To driving some of the hottest cars L.A. has ever seen People been telling me I've grown into some kind of monster But they don't know me though, I've been this way since seventeen Tryna get finances poppin', man, I thought that was the object To some of my n----s lost they life and then there goes the team My only dream was holding us down like f--- who tryna stop us You could get the middle finger or the reddest beam It's your choice, I took this industry by storm, young and black Killing them softly Don't ever call me fortunate, you don't know what it cost me So anybody complaining about they circumstances lost me, homie We ain't even talking, f--- that energy, f--- up off me [Hook: Marsha Ambrosius] It's easy to say you need me When you got everything you want But It's hard for me to believe it You'll find out when I'm gone and then Kendrick goes to say something like i got the green n gold plus a million sold but with out diamond tho to you im just anotha n-----... who are they referencing will miss dre when hes gone?
