    It was most likely done while he was alive. He probably had material for more than one album anyway.

    probably couldn’t get it cleared for some reason. But doesn’t 50 own rights to his music ? He made his last album. Swizz could of easily contacted 50 and got clearance

    I guess they will do the deluxe thing like artists do these days to keep this at number 1 for two weeks instead of just 1. And increase the sales of course.

    I think Fif just executive produced it, nothing else. They needed some promotion for the album and 50 was the right guy for it.

    I just found out after reading some comments that Bath Salts is an unreleased track from a few years ago.





    So maybe that's why X never mentionned the Jay and Nas features? Swizz decided to add it to the album?

    I have a feeling the album was "done" meaning all the songs were recorded before DMX's death. But they hadn't figured out which songs would make the cut yet.

    Not really, there’s no reason to pad an album with more songs just because. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a deluxe tho.

    Word thanks! Still though every producer who works on a posthumous album says it’s “done” before the person died—I have no doubt he had a lot of material but these days with streaming it’s rare that an album is 100% done until a week or sometimes a day before.

    As for the features, I can’t really tell if Swizz means tht everyone wanted to be a part of it while DMX was working on the album or that they wanted to be on it after he died (I’m sure a mix of both). I’m not complaining because I love most of the features artists but DMX usually only had a 2-3 songs with features on his albums which is the reason why I’m a little worried there won’t be enough X on here.

    It’s like some of those songs on pop’s album like “Snitchin” that’s a quavo hook, two quavo verses, a future verse, and 1 short pop smoke verse halfway thru the song lol. But of course I won’t judge it until I hear it because sometimes albums with lots of features are great
