I really hope the other tracks do X more justice lol and don't sound like demo versions. Like others said this sounds like a fanmade remix of a griselda song that added dmx to it.
Too bad because the track itself is fire.Ordinary Joel, Wreckless and GCasper like this. -

Just imagine if year of the dog debuted at #1 instead of 2 and undisputed never existed.

Reading the comments to swizz Twitter status that went up a hour ago. And a prod said something in the comments like “jadakiss had the best verse on bath salts. Hope that version still exist”
hopefully this album will be as close to how DMX wanted it as possible.Ordinary Joel, Yeez and Wreckless like this. -

Nah DMX was way bigger because of the music and movies. People just forgot about him cause he had a real bad decade coming in and out of prison and dealing with his drugs addiction. He barely dropped music and the music that he did drop wasn't all that until he started to get his s--- together, or at least that's what we thought.Wreckless, lil uzi vert stan and Ordinary Joel like this. -

Only just caught the news of the tracklist.
Hyped for the album undoubtedly and most keen to hear the LOX and Griselda cuts. I feel X compliments those guys styles perfectly.
Not happy about so many features though. Although the fact that X himself talked about the features gives me a bit more faith that this is what he agreed to. Let's face it, he was older into his career and his mind wasn't as sharp as it once was because of the drugs. I'm happy he had the energy and desire to make new music but realistically he probably wasn't able to write 3 16 bar verses over 10+ tracks.
All I want is the album X wanted to put out or felt comfortable enough with to co-sign.Ordinary Joel, Ricky and CARNIFEX like this. -

Not really, there’s no reason to pad an album with more songs just because. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a deluxe tho.
Word thanks! Still though every producer who works on a posthumous album says it’s “done” before the person died—I have no doubt he had a lot of material but these days with streaming it’s rare that an album is 100% done until a week or sometimes a day before.
As for the features, I can’t really tell if Swizz means tht everyone wanted to be a part of it while DMX was working on the album or that they wanted to be on it after he died (I’m sure a mix of both). I’m not complaining because I love most of the features artists but DMX usually only had a 2-3 songs with features on his albums which is the reason why I’m a little worried there won’t be enough X on here.
It’s like some of those songs on pop’s album like “Snitchin” that’s a quavo hook, two quavo verses, a future verse, and 1 short pop smoke verse halfway thru the song lol. But of course I won’t judge it until I hear it because sometimes albums with lots of features are greatCARNIFEX, Ordinary Joel and Wreckless like this. - Nov 28, 2025
