    I did shed a tear while listening to a DMX song after hearing he was basically dead at the hospital. First time I've felt actual sadness over an artist's death.

    Full blown crying/sobbing over the death of someone you never met is a bit much imo but who knows, everyone's situation is different.

    For me the emotional response comes from what the music meant to me. Like how much it helped me during a s-----y time in my life and to know the artist is now gone is sad.

    Listening to Lord Give Me a Sign after hearing about X being in the hospital gave me watery eyes cause it brought me right back to that rough time period back in 07 when I was listening to that song daily and how much it helped me.

    So yea, it's perfectly normal to be sad over an artist's death, especially if what they did helped you get through tough times.

    Yup very crazy, but that just means he did what wanted to do, which is to touch many lives with his music.

    You said this, and tbh this what happened to me this morning, and yesterday when listening to it’s on, and niggaz die for me. For me like I said I would cry if DMX was to ever die, and I said this years ago, but I didn’t think it would be this bad. When it happened I’m just like d--- how am I crying this much for a guy that I never before? I guess it’s because I’ve been listening to him since I was 8 years old.

    DMX's memorial service will be held at the Barclay Center on April 24th. And a private church service for just his family the following day.
