    Yea idk when I was younger I didn't know what the concept of a "single" was... I thought songs were just songs and when I started listening to whole projects I realized all the good stuff is left hidden away for the people that buy the album (back when buying music was a thing) and that the singles were just to grab your attention

    you're describing like 99% of ppl who exist

    i'd say the vast majority of ppl who listen to any kind of music this in depth with it

    there's no one ik irl rn who's heard a kanye album in full, or knows who thug or future is or even the name of kendricks latest album

    i guess it's different for me in that regard then cause i grew up with napster n s--- and so i've always copped full albums, especially when i've gone back to find old music i use to hear when i was younger because generally if it's an older album that ik a song from i'll download it and realize that... holy s---... there's another song on here that i know

    despite the fact that i absolutely detest most ppls taste on this forum and don't even really like rap/hip hop all that much, i stick around this place because it's literally the ONLY place i've ever had to really discuss music, and i don't wanna lose that

    I found it through a Facebook page that used to share all articles and they seemed interesting so i used to check thinking those are some professionals or something lmao until I joined one day

    I've always been the "dude with music" outta all the people I chill with or f--- with or party with. At first it was difficult because I fell victim to thinking everybody was gonna be as into music as I was but over the years I just keep my distance when talking about music with anybody I know isn't on my level.

    Usually what happens is i'll be just casually talking about music in the company of some people I just met or started hanging out with and they'll automatically think we listen to the same music like I used to but I usually just tell em something like

    "yeah we probably don't like the same s---, i'm pretty into my music" or something like that and from there on out it usually diffuses the situation. Like said before 99% of people aren't going to dive that deep into music it's just not that they're about like some of us are.

    Basically you're wasting your time if this is continuing to get you frustrated and I would recommend just telling them that you guys aren't always going to like the same stuff and just let them enjoy their top 40 smash hit singles of the summer playlist.

    The worst though is when you're at a college party and they give you the aux cord and you have to tailor every. single. f---ing. song to be exactly what they wanna hear next and it just becomes a f---ing job. I used to get the aux cord at every party but now i'm just like nah f--- yall unless they're not really paying attention.

    It's just unnecessary L's you don't have to take op.
