    short answer: yes

Long answer: I recently found out I have an IgA deficiency (basically my body sucks at making a certain type of antibody) so I wanna talk to my doctor to make sure it’s a good idea and that it wouldn’t trigger some sort of weird immune/antibody response in my body (I’m not well versed on this type of thing and it’s all new to me so excuse me if that sounds dumb/is wrong lol).

I won’t be getting it immediately due to that reason and also because I’m sure it’ll be in short supply so I’d rather help ensure people who need it most get it first. And obviously, the more data we have on it the more we will understand its effectiveness so I’m also okay with not being a first round guinea pig

Well, I'm not a scientist so I'll shut up about it. I simply don't trust experimental stuff, cause that's what it is in my books. Like "Hey, ummm, we have this vaccine that could cure one thing almost 20 years ago and it seems it could also cure this new thing that we don't know too much about yet, but yeah, let's try it".

Say what you want, I'll wait and see what happens, side effects etc. If it turns out safe, I'm taking it.

fair, let me put it like this though,

    in layman's terms:
99% of vaccine made between 2003-2019 focused on the coronavirus family (mainly SARS)
1% made in 2020 focused on COVID-19 specifically.

not much experimental about it, but I understand waiting to get it. esp since you had COVID already.

I think it’s important to note that there IS room for nuance in vaccine discussion.

It’s one thing if you think they’re injecting pure autism serum in us and another to be a little skeptical of something made in a year that normally takes 5+ for a disease we still don’t know a lot about (also vs diseases that have been around for much longer). it’s perfectly reasonable and doesn’t make you an anti-vaxxer—just cautious.

And I mean OxyContin was originally conceived as a as non-habit forming opioid, so medical scientists can certainly f--- things up lol.

theres new stuff coming out saying it was intentionally addictive, and the whole non addictive thing was a marketing scheme by big pharma to get people hooked on opiates

Normal people won't be able to get it immediately. It will be healthcare workers and boomers then susceptible and so on. If I was given a choice to take it the first day I wouldn't. I'd give it a few months, but with the initial supply I won't have access to it anytime soon anyway. Also interested to see if the vaccine is good forever or you'll have to repeat every year like the flu

yeah big pharma is the worst... also super powerful... like when they villified Martin Shkreli who was actually sort of the good guy in his whole scandal.

When he raised the price of Daraprim from $13.50 to $750 a pill it basically made it universally covered by health insurance whereas before most people payed a good chunk out of pocket.

From what I've read, it's two rounds and will last at least 3-5 years but could be longer.

and yeah 'when available' in the poll means when you specifically are able, not when its available to others obv.

lol i think all the sugars & salt must do damage to some people's brains.
Ive no idea why there has been no campaign to try & reduce obesity since it is the one of the highest risk factors with covid.

But I guess people eating less would hurt the economy.

I would take it today probably if possible. People with their arms crossed about it (especially when it’s not even an option) should grow up.

The Biden Administration should tie a $1500 stimulus check to getting the vaccine.

It would definitely wipe out the virus and provide financial relief... plus, Anti-Vaxxers would feel extra stupid when they didn't get $1500 but do get COVID19.
