Feb 1, 2016 I couldn't stand Drake during that time period. Not so much 2012 but 09-11 definitely. He went from making ring tone music (best I ever had) to mimicking Wayne and rapping with corny/cringe-worthy punchlines ("like a sprained ankle boy I ain't nothing to play with" :s) then the take care era came around and he started rapping/singing in clichès. On everything 5am In Toronto changed my whole perception of Drake. It was like he finally matured and found his place.
Feb 1, 2016 He didn't really have a choice tbh. Ppl always forget, but he wasn't always the singing n-----. When he was coming up his rapping ability got him his meeting and eventual deal with Wayne. The singing helped introduce him to the mainstream, and his ability to excel in both lanes turned him into the superstar we see today. I don't think "simp Drake" will every truly disappear because the music is just too d--- good, but I really think he's being truthful when he says he's drastically changing or that he's at a higher place etc. He wouldn't have survived if he stayed the same, plain and simple. Eventually people will acknowledge that as his best era.
Feb 1, 2016 if drake responds with the woat diss track it'll still be considered a goat diss track so that just explains in a nutshell why drake need not respond to meek's sad disses. we all out here shaking our heads at this whole fiasco at the most, drizzy is prolly at home like "eyy meek, watch it brotha"
Feb 1, 2016 I'm willing to give it some time but yeah that s--- is gonna be hard to top. I still don't think Summer 16 is what View's is gonna sound like. Maybe a darker version of NWTS.
