Does Jay Electronica's ideology impact how you feel about his music?

    Is this rly defending mchael jackson? Kendrick defended him in much more explicit terms TBH.

    And I mean, it's one thing where Kanye's views clearly have impacted his creative skills, or however you want to parse it he's making bad albums. In this case, and in others, I don't mind an artist's personal or relgious viewpoints as long as it informs compelling music. Which this does, mostly.

    i don't mean this disparagingly @Charlie Work (and i'm mentioning you so you don't think i'm subbing you) but i'm sincerely confused as to how, after what i presume is a lifetime of listening to rap, this album reads to you as a uniquely troublesome/difficult to stomach case?

    Love his music, dont neccesarily agree with his views but hes topic range is breath of fresh air

    5% ideology has always been a big part of Hip Hop. He's not the first, won't be the last. My issue with Jay Elec is his horrible work ethic. We waited a decade and a pandemic to hear Jay Z hold his hand through what should have been his first solo (or 5th depending on how many albums he'd release if he were into that sort of thing).

    yes very problematic. the Jews are the holy people still even if they don't believe in Jesus yet. this country was built on judeo-christian foundations
