Nobody should act like he's above the "acclaim" love, you would probably bring that s--- up if your favorite aritst (eminem or drake I guess) was acclaimed like that.

I'm not saying you can't enjoy hip hop if you're not a fan of jazz, you can definitely enjoy a lot of mainstream & modern albums, that's undeniable. I don't even like "real hip hop fan" thing but if you mean the people who were already listening to hip hop in the 90s, then yes... almost all of them are at least familiar with the jazzy sound. The influence of jazz on early hip hop is truly remarkable... it was also a genre that was mostly enjoyable for black people.
