Aug 7, 2015 It's less that people are offended and more that they think Eminem's a loser for being a 45-year-old who raps about r---
Aug 7, 2015 Here we go again. These critics act like these rappers really out here raping these b------s. They literally get p---- tossed to them like a bad pitch.
Aug 7, 2015 Guess that makes me one of the biggest disgusting people on earth for being a hardcore Stan then...
Aug 7, 2015 Wow #dope #bars about raping #b------s Marshall! It's pathetic that anyone defends s--- like this, jesus.
Aug 7, 2015 Meh. Whatever. In another world, it's more pathetic that people get offended by stuff like this from artists like this. It would be wise if they DIDN'T do stuff like that.
Aug 7, 2015 Why do people care so much. We've literally been having the same conversation for 16+ years. I understand if you think his lyrics are getting old but so is complaining about it.
Aug 7, 2015 1999 was a different time than 2015 and you can't ignore historical context. In 1999, Eminem was a funny person, and what he was doing and saying was shocking for the time—it doesn't necessarily make it OK, but there was at least reasoning and context behind it. Like, the r--- lyric in "k--- You" serves a clear purpose and was addressing his position as a celebrity at the moment ("Oh, now he's raping his own mother/Abusing a whor-, snorting coke/And we gave him the Rolling Stone cover?"). He was basically saying "I'm this good and famous right now so I can literally say anything and you'll still put me on Rolling Stone." What does saying "I even make the b------s I r--- c-m" accomplish in 2015? Like, I honestly really don't care about this lyric and I'm not offended by it. I'm just dumbfounded so many people are defending it and always chalk it up to people being "offended" by it when the tweets look to me more like people are just saying "Wow, what a loser. You write bad lyrics Marshall." Obviously the "this man is disgusting and so are the people who listen to him" tweet is hyperbole, but most of the tweets this article quoted aren't like that. edit: but to answer your question directly, I was nine years old in 1999 and didn't listen to rap music yet
Aug 7, 2015 The song is edited, so I have no clue what people are talking about when they refer to Eminem saying "r---." Also, every time people get pissed off about this s---, Eminem wins. If this really offends you, ignore it.
