    About an hour ago I thought to myself if we don't get a post or tweet in the next two hours nothing is coming tonight.


    It's a strange post but hey it's something. I'm still doubtful though just because it IS Dre.

    Man, it's his birthday, this odd IG post, those GTA songs been released, Super Bowl... Dre is on fire, this is the best moment for him to release something. Fingers crossed for something in 5.5 hrs!

    Finally got to listen to all of the GTA songs

    there’s some good f---ing s--- there. ETA is bliss start to finish. I’m definitely ready for a 2022 Dre album

    If he did drop an album tomorrow he would have his first #1 album for sure with the Super Bowl hype.

    I think he’s still planning an album — he alluded to something “really amazing that I’m working on” in the Big Boy interview. I’m not sure what else this could be given that he’s already mentioned the tour.

    The bad news — he mentioned a “three to four year” timeline. Hopefully, this timeline is album release + tour duration, and he’s planning to release the album before the tour. :emoji_fingers_crossed:

    These interviews are interesting — Dre’s been so on message with regards to the performance. He must be very pleased with the critical response.

    This begs the question — if his album has supposedly been done for months, why wasn’t it released last night? Regardless of what he does going forward, his buzz will never be bigger than it was this week.

    Seems like a missed opportunity.

    It certainly was a disappointingly huge missed opportunity. Then again we have ask the question the h--- does Dre care about music wise? It's so hard to tell because he is an artist that drops so infrequently that it's hard to figure out. Does he care about sales? Making game changing music? Satisfying long time fans with Detox or a Detox style sounding album? Or is a new album just an afterthought/promo for a potential tour? We know he is always working but other than that not much else on his motivation.

    We know what Eminem cares about most is making sure no one knows he is dropping - surprise releases after him thinking people genuinely didn't like Revival due to reading the tracklist beforehand lol. With Dre it's so strange because anyone interviewing Em is asking about new music. With Dre no questions like that whatsoever. I mean, is he even aware how much people still want him to drop this?

    Ugh just so frustrating and at this point I'm really beat and can't even find a single little sign he is interested in dropping. So many clues on social media throughout last year and this and now nothing.

    f---ing disgusting.

    And to add insult to injury he teased us with one of the sickest beats I've heard in ages during that commercial. Light years better than anything from GTA.

    Dre and Detox has been like an abusive husband the last 20 years while I'm the dimbass spouse who keeps coming back. I come back to him like "Please don't hurt me again" and each time he proceeds to beat the s--- out of me worse than the last time.

    Exactly - I replayed that commercial like 50 times when I first heard it. The part that hits in the middle of the commercial is when you can basically imagine Dre rapping a godly verse with his bass-y voice (which sounds perfect now on the GTA songs compared to Compton). Basically him saying "look what you could have, but I will never give it to you".

    It's also shows the fact that he can really feel his audience - the GTA tracks sounded EXACTLY as I would imagine video games rap songs sounding like. They were perfectly crafted for that.

    This commercial shows that he is still making EXACTLY the sound that people want from Detox. Not a new Dre album but DETOX. It's mind boggling why he is doing what he's doing.

    I can solidly say the Detox is it. That's the end game for me music wise. Waiting for it almost 20 years I swear as long as I am able to hear it, I wouldn't need a new album for the rest of my life.

    Wow just listened to that Made in LA commercial for the first time with headphones and that beat is crazy! It is mind boggling that some of these beats are only being used as background music for ads. Takes me back to the Chrysler commercial over a decade ago.

    I stand by saying any Dre album that would’ve dropped this week would be #1 on the charts and probably a lot of radio/streaming success. Really a shame it’s been silent since the Super Bowl.

    You don't hear anything from Dre right now except a few pictures from his productions crew chilling in the studio, he really worked for 2 years now to release six tracks for GTA and that's it now?

    Idk man, I'm disappointed as well but it seems like dre was partying the whole time instead of planning a rollout lol. Who knows what he'll do next.
