There They Go was made in 99. That's a fact. The very FIRST Detox beats were the Dre tracks that ended up on Obie Trice's Cheers. From there you can look at Beg For Mercy, The Documentary, The Big b--- and Blue Carpet Treatment for more of the easiest Detox sessions.

No the Cheers were 2001 or 2002 I believe. That "Oh" beat was literally the first Detox beat ever made. I think I remember Scott Storch talking about that song and how every verse had a different beat progression and every song on the album Detox would have progressions like that- which at the time was pretty f---ing awesome.

The beat to the opening track of cheers is f---ing nuts if the new album consists of current music only and still good I don't think it'll ever come close to early 2000s dre beats voice subject matter etc

Beg for mercy also had crazy beats imagine having all these beats to yourself and just handing them out especially to Obie dre was generous as f---

Listening to a lot of these beats from 50 Obie etc you really realize Em has always had an odd taste in beats like sure the ones he used fit him well especially earlier in his career but imagine having Dre by your side willing to produce and give you beats like it's nobodies business and instead of grabbing actual bangers you take what he took

I have no idea but honestly sounds like an Em styled beat. He also makes some very good beats and gives them away and when he actually raps over his own he chooses the worst ones.

That's very informative and nice of you to share, but I wasn't like claiming that the particular beat given to Mary J's "Not Today" was the first Detox beat ever if you might accidentally misunderstood something I said. Whatsoever though, I feel like that type of beat still amazingly distinguishes a lot from any of the rumored beats before 2002.

Whenever I think about the Detox beats he made during 2002-2008 it makes me feel like if Dre actually even at least somewhat finished the album and dropped then that he would have been the biggest ever number one goated artist in the history of hip hop including the rap game today.
Not that like he isn't goated without it but he would had been considered a literal God of rap if he came through with it.

if it was early 2000's, we would be ok if Em drops an album per 3 years... now we want 2 albums a year :)

in late 90s and early 00s, music was prepared like a special day dinner table. and u can never full for long time. when u feel almost full after years the taste was very memorable and unforgetable.

music became fastfood type s--- nowadays...

The music was more memorable back then and he used to stay busy touring.

Now surprise releases also come and go faster than a regular one.

It's because hip hop melophiles used to get unarguable classic s--- at least couple if not dozen of times in a year and now most of what s--- we get is at the best "could had been worse", so we listen to it only while it's fresh because it already had bland taste to begin with and it quickly does becomes tasteless afterwards.

I mentioned this in the Eminem thread but I heard they are kicking around Dre's Birthday which is conveniently is the first Friday after the SuperBowl(shout out to @RG9 for pointing that out) . This news seems to support that. Hope we don't have to wait that long though.

I'd Silk Sonic classed as an Aftermath release though?
