May 1, 2016 Or sweeterman tried hiding ramriddlz from the world Yall should just accept this shady s--- about ya idol. You can still enjoy the music.
May 1, 2016 I was joking bruh.... The whole post was full of irony, but let's get back to the topic. I don't really notice glaring similarities between those two songs. There is a huge possibility though that he used that song for inspirational purposes. This is what you call stealing? Artists do that s--- all the time. If it was a reason to call people thieves half of the industry wouldn't be doing anything but explaining their a----s before the court.
May 1, 2016 didn't think they sounded the same at all... I can agree with the inspiration theory on this one...Drake could've been inspired by this track but he changed it so much that it has a completely different sound and vybz.
May 1, 2016 Didn't catch the joke, apologies. I siced it on some clickbait s---, would you click a thread that said "Drake inspired by this song" or "Drake STOLE SOMETHING!!!"? But yes, back to the topic. She sent the song to his father with the same title and there's mild similarities in the hook as well as how the hook is delivered. People get songwriting credits for the smallest things these days (Nelly got credited on 30 Hours for Ye saying "It's getting hot in here" for Yeezus sake). All I'm saying is, why couldn't Drake just say "Hey this song cool lemme tack you on as a songwriter and you can get some publishing and notoriety out of this" You don't know what it's like for these struggling artists to put so much time into their work, hoping for a big break, then having it recognized but no one knows you made it. You can say it's not a big deal, but someone put part of their life into it, and to have it stolen with complete disregard is basically saying your work and the time you put into it is meaningless. If you ever created anything you cared about immensely, you would understand. If not, then this post isn't for you.
May 1, 2016 Is not giving someone a credit always equal to stealing? Is there a law where it's said that you should give a credit to people who helped you in your creative process? If yes, then Im taking back everything that I said earlier. I always thought that kanye was giving those credits to everyone because he was super generous, but it wasn't obligatory. To be clear, I'm not saying here about people who actually helped create a song or an album. I'm talking about people who indirectly helped in a creative process.
May 1, 2016 I don't know the exact language behind the law… it depends on how involved you were in the creative process. If someone said "you should make a song about this" then you do that, I don't think that would hold up in a court of law. If we're talking "hey this is how your hook should sound" then you have more of a chance. I would Kendrick does reference track It's akin to not getting a sample cleared on a song you're selling, you can be sued for restitution from money made off the song. It gets into contractual s--- at that point which I know nothing of, but if you can prove you were directly involved enough to be compensated for both the contribution and a slice of the profits made by the product. Someone correct me if I'm wrong tho.
May 1, 2016 Hotline Bling was a Cha Cha Remix @Enigma but this isn't that similar and in all honesty OP is caping for this rando just to be anti-drake.
