If you were introducing Grime to someone.. that Kano album is the perfect album, as you said.. Dizzee is Marmite and his debut was straight grime whilst Kano had a lot of Hip Hop elements to his sound, which was cleaner than Dizzee's.

Man it was so GOAT when grime was poppin and on the charts. Cant f--- with anything on the top 40 these days.

Theres been a bit of a resurgence going on recently. Last year was the beginning, hopefully this year the momentum continues.

As you said kano mixed it With hip hop. Dizzee was just straight raw and cohesive as fu-. They both just offer a different product, id say kano is for more lyrical (if you were to introduce someone to grime) but dizzee just had something about him man. Amazing delivery and great song making skills.

    Both albums still sound fresh.

the biggest problem is they are being forced to make songs that will be on the charts. Without a chart song/album they are not considered a success. Sucks.

I listened to JME History today...takes me back when i stanned him so much.

Going to put Playtime is over on now.

    It'll never be the same

BRB devlins mixtapes (he wwas fukin awesome, Kanye posted his freestyle on his blog, this was back in 2006)
    BRB klashnekoff
    BRB ghetts
    BRb chipmunk in his prime
brb ice kid (he had so much potential)

It goes on and on and on. Great rappers were a dime a dozen back then, wasn't even hard to find good music, nowadays that spark is just missing from the scene.

I watched an akala interview few months ago and he said 99% of UK rappers aint making a living off it. He said about 1% do but he wouldn't say no names.

Gotta make that money somehow. Tinchy used to body the charts lol

Lmao nostalgia right now. Everyone from my town used to do freestyles over this beat. Holding their phone in one hand and waving their other around like a gun spitting trash bars

    "It's like Shakespeare with a n----- twist "

fu- man it's undeniable the quality has gone down substantially. So many fukin good songs. We need a new golden era for grime.

Ah. Grime. When hip-hop was dying and the UK jacked East Coast flow over 2-Step beats. Dizzee Rascal, So Solid Crew, Mo Fire Crew

So Solid Crew was so hard. Starting s--- at raves. Legendary genre.
