Feb 26, 2015 This is pretty crazy but it got me thinking… Why are people calling him the New King of Rap now? Like because he makes hits, he's the best? Is that how the logic for best rapper goes nowadays? I'm not saying it's easy to make a "hit" song that gets airplay or listens but I would say it's a lot easier than making a concept song or a song that WON'T be on the radio.. if that makes sense? The club songs/radio songs ARE what Drake is. That's his sound. So it's weird and kinda unfair in a way because the music he makes is meant for airplay. That's why it exists. I can vibe to Drake and the dude deserves it, but I think it's strange that the definition for best rapper has become "who has the most hits". By that very same logic, Jay Z is better than Eminem and we know that to be false. So?

Feb 26, 2015 Bruh, the question is not "why is he the GOAT?" it's "since when does 'hits', make you the GOAT?" Dude can make crafty songs for air play, he's still missing the rest of the list requiring GOAT status. Lil Wayne is a better rapper than him because he makes better songs. Half of Drakes songs sound like his other songs. There is no separation in his art. It's all just one giant list of radio play.

Feb 26, 2015 A couple of his songs on IYRTITL do sound like NWTS knockoffs or throwaways. But he's definitely changed up his style between now and Take Care so I don't agree with that dude up top. Take Care was classic, NWTS was pretty good, i don't think classic though. But this is pretty crazy. Just shows he has some good fans that support him more than anything.

Feb 26, 2015 I should probably just accept that people will say Drake is the greatest thing to happen to the Rap game... even though he made his own genre and people can't seem to figure that out and understand it. It's not rap. It's not R&B. It's not hip hop. It's his own genre.
