It’s called progression and maturation, if that stayed as a nu metal band like that they are would’ve sunk.

If what you said was true, they wouldn’t have blown up the way they’ve done in their later years

If you say so. All I remember is people saying they went pop music; and listening to the albums and not feeling them.

I still enjoy Hybrid Theory and Meteora and think they almost could be one big double album, its good music and still holds true to this day. The fact yall are here 20 years later debating how good it was proves itself. A lot of people would still say today that they're both Linkin Parks best albums, and thats most likely coming from people who arent -angsty teens- anymore, they could be 30 year old men. To say it was for angsty teens is naive, petulant and pretty much just a dumb thing to say overall. btw yes, the rest of their albums were wack. Antman needs to up his musical knowledge imo.

Oh ofc and that’s fine, I’m mostly referring to that nu-metal sound in general. LP carried it as far as they could with Meteora and the Reanimation sessions, but Nu-Metal was a cap for them. They never lost that wage completely either. Even that Hunting Party album was pretty good for them that late in their career. My point is they would’ve died if they continues with the sound of the first two albums. I mean look at Korn, irrelevant as ever. Limp Bizkit s----d. LP was more than a nu-metal band, and produced good work in the later years. A Thousand Suns was a cool album too tbh.

Yeah especially hearing these songs and lyrics in a posthumous context makes them hit really hard
