Feb 23, 2020 You just said he no longer makes good music in your essay post earlier, now you just replied to someone saying he still does make great music!LMFAO!
Feb 23, 2020 I absolutely did not say that. I even said it is a miracle Kamikaze and MTBMB came to be - implying that they are good albums. My problem is Eminem is making good music in spite of the people around him - which can quickly turn into terrible music because of the people around him. @Guma Excellent observation. This is very telling. Not to be morbid, but Eminem lost a lot more than just a friend when he lost Proof. He may have lost the only objective ear around him who would care enough to get under his skin and tell him when something he’s doing is whack.
Feb 23, 2020 I disagree. One of the best parts of this interview by far was Eminem admitting that he is a guest in the house of hip hop, because he is. White people are, and always will be, a guest in the house of hip hop. And demanding any more than that would be absolute arrogance bordering on the line of delusion. Hip hop is a staple of BLACK culture, and it has been extremely generous to its guests.
Feb 23, 2020 Buddy, I enjoy MTBMB. I also loved Kamikaze. MMLP2 is one of my favorite Eminem albums. I fully understand the complexity of the bars. Dude, there are many rappers who use the exact same lyrical techniques that Em and Crook spent 45 minutes complimenting themselves for. The difference is they use these techniques as tools for their style, and Em and Crook view these techniques as their style. Eminem’s best music is not centered around being technical, the technicality is always a side piece. The likes of Kendrick Lupe 3K Nas Cole and so many others are able to do this. Difference is they don’t surround themselves with people who act like it is the be all end all of being a great rapper, like Em does. If you don’t see this as a disturbing problem, then more power to you.
Feb 23, 2020 No I’m not. I’m simply stating a fact. White people play a guest role in hip hop. If I’m a “racislist”, then so is Eminem, because he himself agrees.
Feb 23, 2020 If you're not a racialist then you'd have to admit there's no fundamental difference whether he was black or white unless you yourself delve into racialism and give race significant meaning. And you clearly do: you're saying Eminem must be considered a guest in a genre of music simply by virtue of his race. You can say you're just stating a fact but that's essentially the reasoning behind this "fact." Own up to it. I'm not concerned with what Eminem thinks. This is about you.
Feb 23, 2020 You’re playing serious mental gymnastics trying to define my entire world view based on the context of a form of art and expression. Race has significant meaning in the context of hip hop culture. Hip hop is the expression of the black experience, the black experience defines the fundamental elements of hip hop music. White people can enjoy, participate and even be embraced in hip hop, but they can never embody core elements - i.e. systematic oppression, generational oppression in a country their ancestors built, a new genre created after having every other one stolen from them, expressing the unique experiences of being black in any part of America (hood, middle class, etc). White people can not relate to this. We can rap, make rap music, but we can never speak from that perspective - or the perspective of those generations removed from the core elements of hip hop. Acknowledging this does not make me a “racialist”, it makes me aware of historical context.
Feb 23, 2020 You just defined your worldview for me, and it's just as I suspected. White guilt and cultural Marxism 101. Do you even know where these ideas stem from?
Feb 23, 2020 Any black rapper with the necessary talent can create an album like MMLP. No white rapper will EVER create an album like TPAB.
Feb 23, 2020 Believe me, I am well aware of the subversion tactics of cultural marxists. My take has nothing to do with it. Covert white supremacists have the tendency to play stupid about their own history, and gaslight their way out of any real accountability by chalking it up to “white guilt” any time white people acknowledge the system of white supremacy.
Feb 23, 2020 But if you were aware then you would understand that there is no such system of white supremacy. It's a hoax. Check out this article and tell me you knew the first thing about the subversive tactics of cultural Marxists before you read it. I think you'd be surprised how little you actually knew.
Feb 23, 2020 We just got an album as good as MTBMB and yall here getting emotional about Em speaking his mind lmao
Feb 23, 2020 Jimi Hendrix is a guest is rock ? Tiger a guest in golf? Black athletes a guest in basketball (created by a white Canadian) Blacks a guest in football invented by white men? Blacks a guest in soccer ? invented by an Italian, Blacks a guest in hockey ? created by a white man. No only racists think like that, Only racists think in color boundaries.
