Feb 20, 2016 he already is a brand name. more than music like the others no matter is his music is s--- nowadays, he inspired this genreation of rappers, like the others in their music.
Feb 20, 2016 and when it comes to Em being in top tens, I honestly think the next album is the breaking point. like all hope for so many people will be gone if it is not spectacular. if it's not better than MMLP2, I don't know man..
Feb 20, 2016 i HIGHLY doubt his next album being good...feels like his material gets worse the older he gets
Feb 20, 2016 Yeah of course.. But only in terms of current Hip hop.. Like these new rappers will not compare to Nas jay bigg pac etc.. Majority of people look at eminem with them so overall no, but currently of course
Feb 20, 2016 Hip Hop wise, he will be a low top ten probably, but he will have to be remembered as a "great" because of his commercial success and controversy.
Feb 20, 2016 Also next Eminem album won't be his reviving, Eminem is out of drugs, controversy, hype and little girls.
Feb 20, 2016 I think what's so irritating about Em is he could be at least good today if he just changed a few things not working. Like focusing on the material or the content, rather then how the material is spit flow-wise, or getting BETTER PRODUCTION. The production on MMLP2 suffers from being outdated and corny sounding. His voice is fine, and his lyrics would be fine as well, if he didn't have at least one cringe line every track.
Feb 20, 2016 in the mainstream opinion, I think his legacy has already been solidified no matter what happens. As far as "real" hip hop fans are concerned, maybe. But people should remember how great he was from 99-03, and not focus so much on how he fell off after that imo
Feb 20, 2016 I don't see how he's dropping down the rankings any harder than all the other legends that are years past their prime?.... (Like Jay or Snoop)
Feb 20, 2016 well i think if we do top 5 of all time in 5 years..Kanye will easily belong there, and there is good chance for Kendrick...i think Jay and Eminem wont belong there anymore
Feb 20, 2016 Ok I can get that ideology. Thread comes off as if you're treating Em's legacy different But yeah, that's the case with anything though not just musicians-- say you have a top 5 basketball players all time due to their accomplishments and stats, and they all retired... you got some up and coming players raking in stats and awards, you could see the top 5 dropping to future stars anyone who isn't consistently adding to their top 5 repertoire is in danger of dropping out of it. and no one can rap/play forever. We may be talking 10 years from now after Kenny dropped 3 or 4 more classics like 'Yeah Pac and Big where good, but that was before the world was introduced to the King of all Rap K.dot' you see who knows
