Mar 24, 2016 was randomly listening to TIC today when he said that line i find it interesting, half the people think he gets much more respect than he deserves, others think its not enough what do yall think? i think he got the respect he deserves at the time, but people slowly starting to rob him away from it...like shi--ing on his first 3 nowdays
Mar 24, 2016 For what he did for hip-hop for sure. He's now seen as a living legend by fans and his peers
Mar 24, 2016 yeah man. Like imo hes now a living legend and I see so many fans ect say this. He is often called one of the best ever by other rappers
Mar 24, 2016 He did a lot for Hip-Hop and he's still a crazy lyricist. A lot of legends gave him many props for what he has done, so... and
Mar 24, 2016 It wasn't really the music he put out at the time that stopped me from listening to him. Even around that time, I couldn't even listen to his older work. A lot of the s--- he was saying was "cool" and/or "edgy" at the time, but once you hit a certain age, it's just lame and immature.
Mar 24, 2016 i dunno, i can stil leasily listen to his old stuff and love em...i know they are edgy but at the same time its pathetically easy to tell how talented he was
Mar 24, 2016 I'm not taking away the talent, I honestly still think he has it. But when it comes down to being a pure lyricist, he's one of the best but the subject matter and content of his songs is what has been ruining him for years now.
Mar 24, 2016 Would you rather have some people just 'like' you or would you rather have some people love you and some hate you ? Again, he's polarizing, usually the best artists are. The bigger you are the bigger of a target you become. He's the biggest one so you do the math. That being said TIC sums it up pretty well.
Mar 24, 2016 it's weird. there's a lot of crazy respect and a lot of disrespect, or just underrespect. it's hard to find the middle when the fans are incredibly divided nowadays. But yes, I think he has the respect he deserves coming from many different parts of his fan base, and definitely from other rappers in the game.
Mar 24, 2016 in the history of music as a whole, i see him as making a couple of great albums within the hop hop genre, and respect the lyricism he brought at that time.
Mar 24, 2016 He has an unparalleled amount of respect from other artists - just listen to interviews about him. Fans are wishy washy, they hop on the current trends and roll with it. Anyone who respects the culture has to respect what em did for it. Also that 3 album run was nothing less than legendary, don't let a forum where 90% of the people who dog him were 2 when he was big dictate your views. He was/is bigger and more polarizing than anyone we've seen and probably anyone we will see. He's carved his spot on raps mt Rushmore by popular consensus.
Mar 24, 2016 I love eminem, but he's got even too much respect sometimes...it seems like any rapper is afraid to say something about him because of his living legend status
Mar 24, 2016 Subject matter . Ah the to be political correct. Debate. Gotta give him respect his been in the game for a long time and still commands a crowd of 70 - 80 thou fans at shows. I don't see any other rapper at his age do that.
