Dec 18, 2017 Encore & Relapse are better than this. Argument could also be made for MMLP2 but I'm not about to defend that album in any way.
Dec 18, 2017 sslp type songs was mostly shooting the s---, they didnt rly have any concept to them let me know what else i need to explain to your monkey a---
Dec 18, 2017 i just hate ricks beats he gives em, idk if thats cause em asks him for them but i cant stand these rock/berzerk type of beats. they are trash and don't suit em imo. I like em on a dark beat, something only dre or Em himself can nail
Dec 18, 2017 The thing with Em is, he still has the potential to give an album almost as good as his first three, but he needs to move in a different direction now, Walk on Water was breathe of fresh air, and people criticising it at first also came around appreciating the effort, that's what it is. No one can deny his technical proficiency and the number of flows he can articulate, but that doesn't necessarily convert well into the sonic quality of the song. His associates, which help him with the process of writing/recording his albums don't have the balls to call him out when he f---s up, and that's kinda sad because his potential is being wasted by every project he's been putting up. I just hope somewhere or somehow Em gets the main criticism, not his subject matter, not the pop stars, but his beat selection, his flow and his filler lines(full of Dad jokes esque s--- puns) Dude is trying to please everyone, but how do you do that when you give them the worst of everything good in your previous projects. As I said, Walk on Water was the right direction, he could have talked a lot about his present state, his relevance, Jay Z, shout out to rappers of today, but he ended up putting a clusterfuck of an album that sounds like a debut mixtape from a coming up 40 year something who's trying to make a rap career
Dec 18, 2017 I like Em on rock beats probably because I love rock and I think he is good on rock beats because he is kinda a rockstar
Dec 18, 2017 @Wisheezy he probably would sound better on some toned down rock beats I do understand why people are not fond of berzerk and all that though
Dec 18, 2017 thats fair enough, suppose thats his struggles rn..trying to appeal to all his fans is going ot be difficult at this point i just find some of the rick rubin beats are too overpowering that you can't digest his lyrics cause the beats too intrusive
Dec 18, 2017 d---, Koolo. My bad. I was just saying that you misconstrued a lot of SSLP's clear levity which is feasibly qualified to be considered candidate for containing substantially solid content that you'd rather denote, due to personal opinion. Maybe you were always chafed by the 'nads because the carelessly lackadaisical jocoseness Em intended on conveying throughout that masterpiece made you feel like Nick Offerman being forced to listen to Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch.
Dec 18, 2017 @Wisheezy when we were anticipating new Em album I laid some ideas and I said this would be nice to sample something like this, some chilling blues rock type of song not always hyped up beastie boy type of song
