Apr 14, 2016 The number of eminem fans who think he's the best AND f--- with all of rap as a whole are slim.
Apr 14, 2016 Not really lol. He's a general consensus top 5 for a good portion of rap fans. It must s--- to be so bothered by what other fans think/say that you let it cloud your judgement of how good he is. Listen to those albums, he's not where he is today by accident the dude was incredibly talented and communicated to a whole different/new fan base through rap. That's where those fans come from, and what's wrong with that? It's their opinion and preference. It's not as ignorant as attempting to put down someone who is easily classified as an elite talent.
Apr 14, 2016 I understand enjoying his music but why does everyone sound like a hurt girlfriend when speaking on em, like it's not "ignorant" for me to call into question his legacy just because he has a fanbase he was a white rapper in the late 90s-early 2000s ofc he has a huge fanbase just because the fanbase can't properly judge rap doesn't mean I have to bend over backwards to compensate. Eminem is skilled but everything he's done has been done in some capacity before him and at best you can argue he pulled off a few techniques better than anyone else which is impressive but the mindset that technical skill makes a rapper is an outdated one and by the standards you would hold any other musician to he simply doesn't stack up to the all time greats and is just a really good rapper. Nothing wrong with that but whenever you're just a slightly better version of other people you're not gonna get my vote for best rapper alive. And as far as my other post being untrue there's more posts on eminems Facebook and YouTube comments proving it than there are posts on s80.
Apr 14, 2016 i agree as an eminem fan but most of people ik from rap forums know their s--- , those you're talking about are youtubers that are 15
Apr 14, 2016 I'm not saying their opinion is correct by any means my point is he had a skill as a rapper that not many had. He made people outside the genre jump in. Idk what Eminem you remember from the early 2000s but his technical skill wasn't his only asset. Currently it might be, but back then he made good music (regardless of how it aged, styles change) was obviously incredibly popular, had incredibly entertaining subject matter, great humor, unreal flow (again I could go on). He was a total package that's only come around so often.. It seems to me like because a good deal of his fans are a touch ignorant you let that sway you. The proof is in the music, the dude was just a better rapper than everyone else. I think the people who (for whatever reason) continuously try to tear down his legacy are more annoying. White black brown or blue he was absolutely unreal at his peak
Apr 14, 2016 You're so stupid. He's obviously the best rapper alive. He has it all; Flow Lyrics Delivery And he also produces and sings his own hooks most of the time. He's a true artist, whereas Jay Z is just a rapper. Eminem is real hip hop though, and you probably listen to garbage like Young Bug and Justin Fever LOL You probably don't even understand his complex lyrics. If he was overrated, then explain how all his albums sold well. You can't.
Apr 14, 2016 Sorry, Nizzy was on my account. I can see why people would enjoy his music (I used to), but I don't get how people still place him in their top 5 with albums like Encore, Relapse and made songs like Fack and Wee Wee. But what do I know? I'm just a hater apparently
Apr 14, 2016 This is true but his music was never made to age well. His music was made to bring you back to that point in time and experience a nostalgic feeling hence all the pop references and what not. To answer the OP, it's definitely arguable. I'd throw 2pac up there as well tbh.
Apr 15, 2016 I just get the impression he's ( Ems ) just not into anymore. He knows what were all saying he's said it himself many times. The last two albums even Shady Records has shown no life in the last few years. It's taking him longer and longer between albums and that's not a good sign. I mean who really knows it could be industry executives that are holding him back perhaps he just can't find the right people to work with. I think he's just not wanting to let the fans down i really think he does genuinely care for them..
Apr 15, 2016 Look I think we've both made some good points but at this point we're writing essays over the slim distinction between just great and legendary, and I think in order for us to advance the conversation we'd have to go in depth and compare his prime verses to other verses and s--- and I don't have the patience to do that so we can just agree to disagree big dog.
Apr 15, 2016 what do you mean "f--- with all of rap" because I know I'm always open to listening to new things but it doesn't necessarily mean I'm gonna like everything I listen to.
