Dec 24, 2020 You're looking at the entire song the way you're doing that, vocals in general live in the 800 Hz to 2K range. But beats also take up the entire frequency range as well. Discombobulated is also an entirely different beat than GNAT. That's not what changes "the sound" of his microphone. Making vocals louder diesnt change the mic lol. Its tube saturation from his pre amp, and then the input drive on the SSL. Vocal volume also has very little to do with how a vocal sits in the mix in this instance. If the beat has alot going in the mid range it's going to collide with a vocal anyway. "You never want to boost the mid range" is very funny bc if you're boosting in one area of the vocal with an EQ it's common practice to cut in that same area with an EQ in the 2 track (the beat) but EM finalizes his mixes with the stems of beats and that's when panning and surgical EQ starts taking ppl place to fit his vocals in with the beat. Difference with the GNAT beat is that the beat itself doesnt have alot going on in the high range so EM vocals have nothing to really collide with. The difference in his vocals is bc on Gnat hes standing closer to the mic and they're pushing saturation. And on discombobulated hes actually yelling alot more its compressed more and has alot more room reverb in the Sends going on.
Dec 24, 2020 This album...wow..i love EM more than i love my girlfriend. Really, i have no more words... thank you slim, i dont believe in God but i believe in you
Dec 24, 2020 This. And Rap Devil wasn't appealing to me sonically more than Killshot or Not alike for that matter. Drake for few years have been very generic too. Like yeah I get it you sing some words over trap beat but you can't make songs like Started From The Bottom no more. Only one song I listen to by Drake in a year or 2 is Life Is Good and that's Future's song I guess. lol. Not sure how songs like tootsie slide blow up... At least he makes music, there are thousands of wannabes and critics lol. What do they really know of music ? Why are they considered authorities on such a subjective topic ? That's some silly stuff to me. Lol. f--- Shady, that is only for Canada & US. In fact, just the beat alone is 10 times better anyway. Not even counting
Dec 24, 2020 At the beginning of Discombubulated, after ACCEEEENTS, Eminem says something like "since...Relapse" in the background but I cant make out what exactly. Definitely says Relapse.
Dec 24, 2020 Of course its a joke..It was Just to show you how much i like this album. Anyway..i have pics of my girlfriend in my room but slim has a maxi poster and She doesnt haha so still not sure of Who i love more :p
Dec 24, 2020 Man I love em but he gotta stop doing s--- like this lmao. Like no one stop him and said “naw man that ain’t it”
Dec 24, 2020 I love how people actually thought Em was incapable of making songs like his prime. Discombobulated just proves he can do that whenever he wants but he’d rather move forward and evolve with new flows, styles, topics and sound as any artist should do
Dec 24, 2020 Ok? Doesn't mean the execution wasn't poor. Imagine "Stan" in a depressing, slow a--- mood. s--- would s---. Would completely lose its replay value. And then you throw in a "Darkness closing in" sample, with Eminem saying s--- like "double entendre" after a bar. I mention "Never Love Again" because it's how he SHOULD have done it. Didn't have to be upbeat, but a proper hip-hop beat would have done it justice. You're bopping your head to it because you think he's just talking about stage fright before a show, but then he hits you with the truth, and you're in shock. There is no "shock" factor with "Darkness" because you already know it's gonna be some super depressing song with the instrumental. "Stan" is just as disturbing of a topic, even if it's a fictional song, and it was done superbly well.
Dec 24, 2020 You’re just flat out wrong lol. Songs are allowed to be depressing. Darkness is the most cleverly written song of the year, and is (debatably) second to only Stan in his discography.
