Dec 29, 2020 The more I listen to this album the more I’m realizing how amazing this project actually is.. but some of the takes I see on this board just make no sense to me lol.. Drug Ballad is a classic Eminem party song of which he has the perfect flow and three flawless verses. It is one of the most catchy / addictive songs he has ever done. You can still throw this song on at an event like say a wedding and a group of six people will form who know all the lyrics off by heart. Tone Deaf is not in the same league as this song and has close to zero similarities. And I like Tone Deaf.
Dec 29, 2020 Yes. That’s a perfect analogy. That’s exactly why I just get a little bent when people call Side B a classic already. I feel like is disrespecting his first three albums (and for some relapse) and his legacy. Like I get that we all like the album and it’s exciting to see Eminem levelling up like this again.. he has been since Kamikaze and for me I liked Revival too so.. and I do believe he might have another classic in him.. but if Side B was it.. it’s too early to tell either way.
Dec 29, 2020 Yup. Totally agree. Impact is what matters for records to be "classic." Good music can give us 10/10 albums, not necessarily classics.
Dec 29, 2020 I love MTBMB. Both sides. But they're clearly not classics. We May be extremely optimistic, but still these records aren't gonna change the game. Not like the Big Three albums did. This is the reason, I'm inclined for a mature album/concept album from Em in the future. As of now, his flows and productions are tip top. But they won't do something "more" for him. But a concept will.
Dec 29, 2020 You guys want there to be beef so bad between Royce and Em. Royce literally posted a picture of Side B with “my bro” as a text less than 2 weeks ago. Royce is on 3 songs on side A, em is on a skit on Royce’s album from this year as well. I mean, can you blame him for not having “half of BME” on his bio? They released an album more than a decade ago. They are not an active rap group lmao.
