Jan 15, 2021 Can someone please enlighten me. I see a lot of "Em doesn't say s--- on his albums anymore" which I can completely understand. There are a lot of songs where he doesn't say s--- and is just rhyming / goofing around. Discombobulated is, in my opinion, one of those songs. Someone please tell me something meaningful he's saying in Discombobulated. He doesn't say anything however he's having fun with it and goofing around on it which is great. Why then are people hailing this the best song on the album but then roasting other songs for "having no content" when Discombobulated has none and is just Em rhyming syllables / schemes? The inconsistency in some of these reviewers is absolutely nuts. I watched a review of Side B where the guy spent the whole time trashing Em for having no content on the album but then when he heard Discombobulated he asked for "a whole album of this". A whole album of a song that, conceptually, doesn't talk about anything new or meaningful.
Jan 15, 2021 To be fair, Discombobulated is actually a meaningful song. Its' content is just hidden behind a playful form. Basically, he's saying that he is a hotheaded and unpredictable person since the very beginning of his life (the first verse). Then, in other two verses, he continues to draw that picture of himself: Long as I got these walls and these hallways I'm always Have someone to argue with So I act like I'm on a kayak with my back to Niagara No life jacket, man, I had like six psychiatrists, scientists Misdiagnose me with plaque psoriasis 'cause I asked 'em, "Why is it My eye itches?" so they gave me some diet tips And Viagra with side effects, I might end up growing spiderwebs In my head and dying a horrifying death, on my final breath I will tell you, apply your lips to my d-ck, it's one size that fits I just took an AIDS test and the doctor said to think positive

Jan 15, 2021 “If you put Side A & Side B together...” Mental gymnastics to attempt to salvage this project’s worth in full context with the rest of his discography. Side B was recorded after Side A - in different sessions, so you can’t place them together as one to compete with other albums, that’d be unfair. Em knows this project wasn’t fully realised enough to be labelled a completely separate entity, therefore people seeing that it doesn’t hold a candle to other projects, shouldn’t be that controversial of a take as I don’t think Em believes that it should neither.
