Jan 20, 2021 Same formula. He raps about love and someone sings the hook. He's done this to death since LTWYL. About a girl, about the fame pretending it's a girl, idc. I liked it on Recovery, even like River, but now it's just so tiring for me. These records are the hardest for me to listen to in MTBMB, followed by the "comedy" tracks, specially the ones from Side A.
Jan 20, 2021 The beats are better, i f--- with the laid back lazy flow, the hooks from him on Side B are fire and its more constant
Jan 20, 2021 I agree with the point about the “girl” theme being tired out no matter what it represents & I actually think his first attempts at it on Recovery (25 to Life - girl metaphor for hip hop & Space Bound - relationship track) were his best executions & they should’ve ended right there. They suit that project too. Now it seems like the only content he aims for is “haters” & relationship ballads, metaphor or not. It’s stale, unimaginative & boring.
Jan 20, 2021 Mine’s the 1st part. I love it. Soon as I'm through with the Unisom I'ma hit the snooze alarm Before I lose my mind, who am I gonna use it on? Utilizing this tool, I will execute a line Like what I tried to do one time in my youth when I euthanized My poodle in junior high, used to hide in my room and fly To the moon and try suicide with the glue from my school supplies Then Proof, Denaun Eye-Kyu and I would climb in that hooptie to ride to 'Drew's and rhyme That scheme is nutty. Inject it into my veins.
Jan 20, 2021 Not sure if this was posted yet. Pretty good so far. I always, always, always enjoy behind the scene stories of how s--- was during a artist’s run. I’m about to finish now and see how the fall out happened
Jan 20, 2021 I get everyone has a right to their own opinion and no ones opinion is better than others but some of the s--- that's thrown around here is f---ing insane
Jan 20, 2021 Am I the only one who perfers the first beat over the others on discombobulated? Wish he would've used that one for the whole song also really really love the beat that opens up the third verse
Jan 20, 2021 All this interview does is prove that Em needs either Bass Brothers again or other outsider producers who are willing to tell Em how it is & work with him, Em would have to be willing to accept the constructive criticism too though which could be a stretch seeing how he responded to Just Blaze who was well respected & accoladed at the time. Seems like Bass Brothers truly moulded what made Em’s music so great as he seemed to be locked in on the double/triple time rapping he has snapped back into 25 years later. The disdain Jeff had when he mentioned Rap God was hilarious. I just don’t think Dre is invested in Em anymore.
Jan 20, 2021 So, when you say "chick tracks" you mean tracks about women/love or tracks with females on the hook, or even both at the same time? Because, of the original songs we were discussing, only Guns Blazing is about "love", and only Black Magic has a women on the hook. There's not a single song about love/women with a female on the hook on either sides of MTBMB...
Jan 20, 2021 Do you have a link to what he said about just blaze btw that sounds familiar but I'm blanking
Jan 20, 2021 I wonder if Em is saving more serious content about COVID & the riots for a new album. It seems a bit odd that he only referenced them in some silly wordplay bars.
