Oct 30, 2020 I agree if he stopped after Recovery or even sooner he would still have that universal "Icon status" in the vein of biggie and pac where not even hip hop twitter hates on him. However my own selfish love for his content is happy he still puts out music and seemingly has no intent on slowing down for at least another 5 to 10 years. I have no idea what that may do for his legacy in the long run. Guess well just have to see
Oct 30, 2020 I'm sure it wasn't someone from Eminem's circle. Anyone can release a song as long as he's got a distributor. The person who uploaded it most likely wrote "Eminem" in the artist gap when he submitted the track. And since YouTube music became a thing (which resulted in many song being playable on the regular YouTube site as well), the song got assigned to Eminem's channel.
Oct 30, 2020 I feel like em hasn't hit a consistent stride like this with good albums and features in a long time I hope he can keep it up for however many more albums he wants to make
Oct 30, 2020 He probably didn't think the state of the game would be as poor as it has been for a while now. Back in 2002 there were many incredible artists. The early 2000s in general were amazing years. So when he compares himself to what's out there now, he probably realizes he can still do it and very few can compete with him still.
Oct 30, 2020 If em went the jay z route after mmlp2 I feel like he would be more renounced than he is right now. Both Em and Hov took a "break" from 2013 to 2017, and 4:44 and Revival aren't even comparable.
Oct 30, 2020 It's crazy to me that we missed out on an even better version of mtbmb because of sample clearances
Oct 30, 2020 Sometimes it is very important to stop in time to stay in memory as a good artist who has not lost all his talent by the end of his career. I don't think the music is any worse or better now. It's just that the music has become different, not the same as in the 2000s, and that's okay. Yes, I remember watching Eminem live on TV in 2002 at MTV awards, but in recent years, after MMLP2, I prefer to listen to new artists who have not yet lost touch with their listeners.
Oct 30, 2020 Sure it could be the "right" thing to do I lf he stopped his career early but since when did em ever do the right thing lmao
Oct 30, 2020 Y'all aren't him so why do you even care that much about his legacy anyways what's done is done he obviously needs music lol
