Dec 15, 2020 I remember when many people used to look down their nose at FL Studio and everything revolved around Pro Tools so I'm glad it gets so much love now and I've always used it and I do all kinds of music production but I got my start with hip hop and I still love making hip hop beats and for me there is no alternative for that especially when it comes to programming drum patterns which is how I start every beat. I also think with Pro Tools there was always an impression where that was for musicians, that's where you played a live instrument and recorded the results whereas FL Studio was where someone who didn't know how to play an instrument could create their own melodies even if it took a lot longer to get the right notes etc. I've never mixed in anything but FL Studio though so maybe I should try other programs for that. I think the main reason for that is I tend to mix as I go along and it's so easy to tweak sounds within FL Studio and if you're using a VST to make changes as you go along whereas maybe in Pro Tools you would need to be 100% happy with every single sound, every note would need to be the way you want it and then you would need to send all to WAV and import into Pro Tools.

Dec 15, 2020 Ima firm believer in the 10,000 hours concept lol. Just keep at it. Read, research. People usually stop or give up because they plateaued or cant figure things out. Nothing worth learning is easy.
Dec 15, 2020 If Eminem is dropping an album on Friday, I kind of hope it is delayed a bit due to the "leaks". So when midnight hits, and there is no album, everyone can go on about the L's being served, etc.., then a few hours later at 3am it drops.

I stuck to the most simple stuff and whenever I started to want to make my beats sound better and add new elements to it , it got more complicated and I was like f--- that. It's been so long. I will definitely give it another shot. Appreciate the words of wisdom.
Dec 15, 2020 I actually do Music Production at university right now. I'm the only FL Studio producer. I think most of my teachers find it unprofessional, which is bollocks. Most of them use Ableton or Logic.
