Dec 16, 2020 The mention of the word deluxe seems very deliberate. What if it's a double album and there's like over 20 tracks?! Just a theory.
Dec 16, 2020 This will be the fourth album Em has dropped since Kendrick dropped d--- and we still waiting for new Kenny
Dec 16, 2020 Grimance, when will you finally post that d--- Snillet that everybody is waiting for @Grimace aka Andys Father
Dec 16, 2020 Btw, DemJoints does that resume every year. He def ain't trolling. And if he puts that cover It means he's sure to be one of the producers on It. I don't know what else would you need to believe that it's coming lol
Dec 16, 2020 That's only post Recovery and until Kamikaze though. It was for 3 albums (Recovery, MMLP2 & Revival) out of 11. He was never known for having bad beats or picking bad beats, in fact he has some of the most iconic and has made some i.e. 'Renegade'. Was only when money-hungry Paul convinced him to try pander after Relapse and he became a confused pop-star for a bit. Back on track after the colossal failure of Revival though. And the thing I've noticed is he should be over bass-heavy and sparse beats. His raps are so wordy and he does so much with his vocals already... he just needs simple thump, atmosphere and space behind his voice. Which is why Recovery sounds so bad - a lot of guitars, busy drums, too much going on - busy beats with busy vocals = clash. Amazing he couldn't hear it. Think of Kam and MTBMB... back to super bass beats. Not pop-rock-rap s---.
Dec 16, 2020 Me, I think this will be better than anything he released since The Eminem Show. MTBMB was that album, untill now... I wish!
Dec 16, 2020 I do. I think in his head he's probably achieving or about to achieve what he wanted to with Relapse 1 and 2. If Relapse had been received well, I think we would have had a classic in R2, which all the known (Refill) material indicates. I think when he gets a great fan response and he's on a roll... we'll get some magic when he improves on it, like how MMLP was basically an improved SSLP - once people liked that, he was more confident and went bigger. Expecting a potential classic.
Dec 16, 2020 Not saying you have to like every beat, But are you saying he doesn't sound 110% better over something like that than s--- from Recovery era? Think of the other beats on the album - "Unaccomidating", "Lock It Up", then think back to his prime @ MMLP - the whole album is like G-Funk / Bass. He always sounds the best over either keys-driven or bass-driven beats, as long as they're simple and sparse.
Dec 16, 2020 Well, depends on the artist. Em for example actually seems to work better - quickly. Probably as he doesn't overthink, second-guess, get into all the expectations etc. Kamikaze and MTBMB were both made super quickly vs. YEARS for MMLP2 and Revival, which almost all of us agree are his biggest messes of albums. He's very reactionary though, goes off of fans reactions or anger within himself and if he usually does... seems to produce something quickly and cohesive, wheras Kendrick seems to be able to sit and mull s--- over, shut everybody out and take a decent amount of time to craft something and it still comes out cohesive and well done. Different artists.
