Eminem dropped out of highschool and spent all of his time educating himself on being an emcee. He comments often on his great respect for the history of rap. Owned tons of cds and amassed a great collection. Eminem also references that although people view him as a god, he is a human just like you and me who has mastered his craft. This is a subject he touches on a lot, “at the end of the day, I’m a person just like you”. More vulnerable songs touch on this as well such as walk on water. “I walk on water but I ain’t no Jesus, I walk on water only when it freezes”. Conan reference might be about when he was on the Conan show - but alas a stretch. Very public battle with “Margery” or Mariah Carey. Both names start with mar. Coincidence? Don’t think so. Eminem exposed Mariah’s voicemails and painted her as a fraud in his diss track. They went back and forth with diss tracks or combative sequences We love Eminem because of the metaphors we associate with our own lives. Additionally, 1991 is the year Eminem and proof released this track on the 7th slide. Boom. Though barely 25, in 1898 (1998) Houdini wanted to quit and thought seriously about quitting. Eminem was 25 in 1998. and, we all know about Eminem’s struggles and strenuous path to become an artist. Eminem’s big break with Dre. Dre dominated the west coast. We know about Eminem’s massive success overseas, selling out stadiums. He travels to Europe a lot for shows. Paraphrasing but… “I followed you dad. How did you get to Sweden? You made mommy sad.
