Jul 17, 2024 Thank god, she didn't break it. I mean I haven't listen to the Swift's album but knowing some of her songs, I can easily say Songs In the Key of Life should remain there, it's a classic. It might be bc it has been 6 years since then, each year people buy less albums, it's harder to sell. He is not getting any more popular, he loses popularity little by little, teens prob not that interested in him at all. But maybe a bigger reason is the state of physicals, not sure how it works in US but here, it'd be a month or 2 before his cd hit the stores and I'm not spending money on digital a I thought this might happen. Streams going up a bit. Not everybody is a hard follower of Eminem or even any artist they like. I bet some people are just realizing he dropped a new album. Maybe some of them just heard a song or 2 in playlists they play and added songs to their own playlists etc. Curious to see how day 5 streams will go down or up lol...

Jul 17, 2024 "Gen z" are not canceling eminem, but clowning him over the "cancel me" bars. Its a little embarrassing and unfortunately will make alot of these references age pretty poorly. I think it would've been better broaching these topics without the explicit "gen z", "cancel", "PC" terms being used. Couldve been broader and gotten the same point across. Or less overt, I think houdini was a good example of this. Eminem has always discussed being "shut down" or "censored" without it feeling this way to the public. Hes been kind of being clowned as its mainly millennial middle aged cringe lords pushing the "gen z is canceling eminem!" narrative since tone deaf. I think its causing a lot of people to write off the album off the rip as some cringe theatrics

I look back at 'em as beautiful and sad songs that I understood too late and by too late I mean after growing up with them and listening to them 100 times. it's like a sad movie you start to find relatable after a while but you already saw it so many times. Temporary is new and came out at the right time for me. Castle wasn't nearly as sad as this although it was a better song

A bait is saying it and not immediately aftwr saying ”tihi i might get cancelled now good luck” its just regular psychology if you try to provoke someone and tell them ”btw i am just trying to provoke you and knowing your character you will cry!!” People will just roll their eye. Now if he Said the things he did without putting the safety net, gen z and all would go nuts. However, he shouldnt just diss people relevant ages ago, slim used to provoke the biggest, Britney in her prime. Imagine him dropping a line like when he compares himself to Elvis for making black music white, Imagine he Said that about Taylor Swift for stealing country; and dissing Taylor. There would be 2M TikToks about how he is s--- and needs to be cancelled but also, everyone who hates Taylor is his target audience so would be win win
