Aug 9, 2024 Anybody else get all of Eminem’s wordplay and punchlines on first listen of DoSS? It’s just too easy for us hardcore rap listeners, mane.
Aug 9, 2024 And it's not even close honestly. However though EA will definitely f--- up the College football game eventually too. Hopefully it's a while before they do.
Aug 9, 2024 Its crazy seeing racism in real time… Its even crazier only seeing it online… Cause they’re too p---- to say it out loud on a sidewalk…
Aug 9, 2024 YAP SESSION INBOUND: I’m too harsh on season 2, I can admit that. It just felt like a mess. Sometimes that benefitted the show and made sense with Rue’s downward spiral. I didn’t like how Kat was sidelined when she was so important in season 1. I didn’t care for Dominic Fike’s character very much. The ending of the season didn’t make much sense to me because Rue is basically suddenly better even though we don’t get to actually see that happen. We spend so much of the show seeing her downward spiral (those were the best parts) but then we don’t get to see much of the process of her getting better. I feel like it was important to represent that side of drug addiction. That was just disappointing because the show did a great job at an accurate portrayal of drug addiction, Rue’s breakdown at the beginning of season 2 episode 5 was something I’ve witnessed in real life. There’s also the fact that she should have drug lords after her for not selling the drugs she took from them and then escaping from their grasp. That doesn’t really get addressed and from the sounds of the rumors of season 3 it sounds like that won’t get addressed there either. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the show though and my memory is foggy about it so I could be wrong about some things here. I need to rewatch it eventually. I enjoyed season 2 for what it was, but I have a hard time calling it good due to the issues above. I didn’t really have these sorts of issues with season 1, although if I gave it a more critical rewatch I’m sure I could find issues that that season as well.
Aug 9, 2024 I used to find The Scientist by Coldplay melodramatic and boring, didn’t get the hype. Now it unironically makes me want to cry
Aug 9, 2024 I like a couple Manson songs but he was never super on my radar for that era of music, I need to listen to more at some point.
Aug 9, 2024 Fair enough, I’m not sure I agree but is what it is. I would say though not to expect all loose ends to be tied when the show wasn’t over, but it looks like the whole thing is cooked now anyway lol I really liked Euphoria, it reminded me of Skins, but with high production value, more current elements & Americanised. It was so over the top that it was constantly entertaining & I actually felt like when it wasn’t just exploring the normal late teens dynamics, it dealt with a bunch of social issues quite effectively, like the drug addiction & how it affects all intimate relationships, capturing both sides of the equation, Nate’s dad hiding his sexuality throughout his life, & the generational trauma it passed down as a result. Jules & her identity crisis etc. showcasing the chaotic melting pot it creates when all these people & their problems intertwine.
