Half of GC2 is eminem going "yeah, really, ha" to slims attacks. By the way, who is eminem arguing on my darling if slim is this young eminem voice. Are there 2 enemies he fights?
Sep 1, 2024 Slim Shady isn't a voice lol. He uses it to explicitly make the distinction on this album, due to the concept, but, he's arguing with Shady/the devil; inner devil etc., his inner demon aka Shady on it. Doesn't matter that he's not doing a high pitched voice lol.

Sep 1, 2024 Because like I just said, Slim Shady is not a voice. It's not limited to how his voice sounded in 1999 and any other voice can't be it. Shady is just a metaphor for his 'dark side', and dark impulses, and inner demon etc. and he calls Eminem Shady because Eminem is Shady, and Shady is Eminem. It's a reference to a side of him, not a separate person.

Sep 1, 2024 In the early 2000s Eminem said in interviews that he used to think of Shady as an alter ego character until he realized it wasn't an act because that's how he was all the time. Back then he'd learned to come to grips with and even embrace the reality that people are scum. Now he's back to conceptualizing Shady as a character because he let the guilt-trippers get to him. Besides using youth as an excuse, the "Slim Shady" excuse is a way for him to minimize his moral accountability as much as possible. It's also a useful lie to tell himself because it makes it easier for him to believe that despite being morally corruptible by ideas and other external influences, most people are inherently good.
