Jan 13, 2022 I’d like to remind you all of something important If you go on any Youtube comment section and look past the few cringe comments, you see people tell their personal stories that are heartbreaking and how Eminem got them through those times. Now I’m not saying all those stories are true, but there are people out there right now having the absolute worst day of their lives and the one thing they have to fall back on is music, namely Eminem’s heart-felt stories. Those songs are keeping them afloat and making them feel like they’re not alone. They sit back and cry and let the music speak for them. Each of us in this sub has been in that same position and that’s why we’re here. There are people out there RIGHT NOW who have been beaten, abused, r---d, etc. whose only light in this life is his music. He has saved lives and I know you know what Im talking about. So why after all that do we even give a s--- about what others have to say. The journey you’ve been on with Em’s music is YOUR journey, no one else’s. Someone says hes not top 5? Great, that’s not even important because he may be the reason you’re even here to hear it. We’re not here to argue that he’s top 5, we’re not here to brag about sales, we’re not here to get heated at the drop of a pen when someone disagrees. We’re here because our separate journeys led to the same destination and we should embrace that and just enjoy the fact there are 170,000+ people that likely have been through a lot of the same situations and they are all in this subreddit. Em makes catered music, so it’s not for everyone, which is why it’s so special to find us all here. I know already that this is gonna come off really corny and even cringe but f--- man Im really exhausted from getting tangled up in the drama surrounding him in the hiphop community and in this community. I started caring more about what people have to say about him than his actual music and how it makes me feel. It’s gotten to the point where if you like Em then you HAVE to like every top 10 black rapper or else youre just a phony and a stan and uncultured and this and that. So f---ing what? That’s not what this is about. Stop shaming people for falling on music that they love and need to get through the day. It’s pathetic and absolutely trashy behavior. Enjoy what you enjoy and let’s all appreciate the fact we all love Em and what he’s done for us.
