May 27, 2022 Looked to me like Pink's part was meant to give a voice to the female half of the relationship. I like all the relationship songs in Revival. They worked together, to my thinking... I seem to be the only one, though. I seriously don't get that.
May 27, 2022 I actually do f--- with the relationship songs on the album (River, Tragic Endings, & Heat specifically) but Need Me has a lot of problems imo purely because of the context of the album. Make Need Me - Pink ft. Eminem and it'll make so much more sense. Pink has the longer time spent and the song isn't hip hop at all, and even then it's really not even that good of a pop song. The production itself is boring & bloated, the chorus isn't catchy imo, and it's placed within an album where the theme is politics in America. It just doesn't fit at all, and if fit correctly on a Pink album still wouldn't be loved but wouldn't face the backlash it has.
May 27, 2022 You’re not the only one brother. I loved revival even though it’s an unpopular opinion. I think the relationship songs are the best he has ever done. It’s his most personal and introspective album to date, and I couldn’t have asked for more from an older and mature Em. I liked it better than 4:44 as well.
May 27, 2022 Both albums are from older rappers and are very similar. I liked 4:44, I just like Revival better. Revival is overlooked, but in 10 years time will be seen as a classic.
May 27, 2022 That does makes sense. It just didn't bother me with how Pink > Em, but that's probably because I'm biased. I wait for the love/relationship songs. I link them all together, album to album, individual pieces of a whole puzzle. I'm less interested technically & even qualitatively than I am with why they're included in the first place. The broken romance/mystery appeals to me.
