Jun 16, 2022 Problem with SSLP for me is that, it just went too slapstick cartoony. The freestyles from that time period have better humour and tracks from that era like Till h--- Freezes, Demon Inside and Get You Mad is mostly better than the new zany stuff on there. He added more cartoony humour on SSLP and I think it made it worse by doing so. Where as the EP is bit more darker and broody, so taking tracks away from that on the LP didn’t catch the same tone as it should of. Tracks like My Fault, As The World Turns, I’m Shady and the skits etc doesn’t do anything for me. Should of stuck to the darker mood of the album than the cartoony side to it, why I don’t have it in my top 3 albums.

Jun 16, 2022 The goofy songs on SSLP is what makes it iconic tho. It’s the immature and shock lyrics that made Slim Shady a house hold name in just a few months. I know MMLP gets revered for effecting Y2K kids and parents, but people be forgetting that the Slim Shady LP is really what started effecting America’s youth.it was still a major hit record. I even remember My Name is being everywhere as a kid.
