Jun 20, 2022 Lmao that's your first mistake, comparing the King and I to a song like Renegade smh. Two completely different types of songs. It's supposed to be a fun song like Berzerk, So Far, We Made You, Just Lose It, and others, not introspective.
Jun 20, 2022 When do we actually think Eminem might drop? With this Beyoncé drop I feel like not anytime soon
Jun 20, 2022 @Chuny spitting facts. Tbh this could have been a really meaningful song about his actual parallels with Elvis but I get why they went the "silly route". It's a shame they wanted Em for a lead single for this soundtrack. Perhaps if it was a deep cut off the soundtrack maybe we would have gotten a more serious track
Jun 20, 2022 A producer I’ve been following for a long time now makes beats over freestyle verses/cyphers, usually UK-centric, but he’s still unknown so appears to be branching out to using American content too lately & recently he did one for Eminem over his Rap City freestyle from 2009 & it’s dope. Em flowing like butter over this beat. If you enjoyed this you should check out his other stuff, from Conway to Crazy Titch etc.
Jun 20, 2022 If there really is an album, I think it could come next month. The Beyoncé album isn’t releasing until late July.
Jun 20, 2022 TES vibes. If only the whole song had this smooth style and delivery, it would have been a classic. He just had to go and ruin it with awkward rhyming and pauses throughout the rest of the song *facepalm gif*
Jun 21, 2022 Honestly not even hyped anymore. Waited for so long and after the recent song i'm more and more expecting just another Side B like record filled with empty lines and puns.
Jun 21, 2022 Honestly, Eminems biggest problem right now, in my humble opinion, is his overuse of the simile. Ever since Side B came out, I can't even LISTEN to an Eminem song that was made post-MMLP2 without manually hearing the "LIKE" setup, every two or three bars, and it really hampers my ability to even enjoy some of his better s---, since it's peppered so thoroughly throughout even his best modern releases. I think this overdependance on "LIKE" bars and similes is a combination of a few things. Firstly, he's been around for 20+ years. What does he have to talk about that wouldn't retread over previously discussed topics? Not much. Here's the thing, though; not wanting to rap about things you've already rapped about is fine, but has he not been rapping about just similes and puns for the better part of 5 years? That's worse than rehashing an overdose or Proof track. Whereas before, his motivation for rapping came from not only his experiences as an individual, but the cultural tides ebbing that he felt as well, he now only raps for the sake of making puns and similes. Secondly, I think this is an issue of confidence. I think something happened between MMLP2 and Revival that kneecapped and crippled his confidence. Rather than take risks and branch out into different veins of sound, he'd rather just spam generic trap beat after generic trap beat, rehashing old, tired similes. He doesn't do this because it's better, he does it because it's easier. It makes him feel like a technical genius, while actually doing very little. And it's sad to see.
