Aug 12, 2021 That old, album release cycle don’t work though. Revival showed that, Em was one of the last big artists to have done the traditional route and was a failure. Even likes of Taylor Swift drop out of nowhere now or announce it a day before release. The way people consume content now with the digital age, needs to be b--- and people move on. Just the way it is. Releasing a couple of singles month before release and doing talk shows before the album comes out doesn’t work or affect sales any more. Agreed there should be another way to release a album than just drop it as a surprise album at midnight. Maybe more teasers and doing cryptic ideas, interviews etc before dropping through out the week.
Aug 12, 2021 I agree to an extent, thats what i meant by modernize. Cudi still did a release cycle, Kanye is doing it right now in his own kanye way. I definitely dont think the old old school way works like with Recovery or MMLP2 but doing something quick and impactful then releasing it could work I think.

It also showed that people want him to perform new songs, not Stan, LTWYL and then something from the new album. Pop fans buy albums btw, I'm talking multiple covers, deluxe editions,... I see teens buying cds in 2021, that's how loyal they are lol All he would have to do is pick better singles and create hype for 2-3 weeks and then drop. All on the same month.

Aug 12, 2021 Honestly seems like the standard roll out for an album for bigger artist is social media post a week or two before the album single/music video Apple music interview. I believe that's the smart way too go, I don't understand how anyone thinks the old months long rollout is a Good idea with how fast s--- moves now. It's funny the only artist I see still doing that are metal bands "here's our single!!!......album out in 4 months" you guys have 14 people waiting for this album what kind of hype do you think you guys can catch? By the time the album comes out they'll be lkke 8 people listening.
Aug 12, 2021 Radio interviews and TV/Award shows performances help too. But everything on the same month, you can't have people waiting for 4 months these days, that's when things start leaking and people lose interest.
