Aug 19, 2021 Yeah it's true and it's probably why most rappers/artists 25+ deep in their careers either retire or just putting out projects less often, every now and then. They might think they cannot top their last project or they don't have anything important to talk about, so it wouldn't be worth it to release anything until they do. The problem with Em is he's so competitive, he wants to prove himself all the time. And he probably doesn't have much else going on in his life, so rapping is really the only thing he can do to spend his time and fill empty spaces - and stay somewhat sane. Take Jay-Z for example. He's confident enough about his legacy. He's still regarded as the GOAT by most. He doesn't feel the need to be in the spotlight all the time. Same with Nas. Em, on the other hand, must feel he's still at the top of his game. He feels he can still add things to the culture and show he keeps getting better technically and maybe what he doesn't understand is the more he improves technically, the worse it gets on the musical side of things. Because it's still music first and foremost afterall.
Aug 19, 2021 He’s definitely seems more relaxed and having fun on side B which isn’t a bad thing at all but songs like she loves me and higher are boring to me for some reason. Alfreds theme would be better I think if the beat was different. I like his verse in guns blazing but I don’t really like the rest of the song. I only have like two skips on side A.
Aug 19, 2021 Sometimes less is more I feel like a shorter album leaving them wanting more would be better instead of an album with too much filler. Kamikaze is the perfect example IMO such a short album would love to hear everything else recorded that actually fit the theme and swap the relationship songs for them. While side a gave too much with some filler songs like in too deep even the songs I do like I feel like they could've just been left off.

When Eminem had a group of friends and fellow artists he could hang out with, go to parties, have fun and vibe in the studio with them, it reflected on his music. Whether it was a funny song or it was something deeper. The more he alienated himself and started to do music on his own, in his studio, probably alone most of the times, it obviously also reflects on his music. Of course he's still immensely talented so he can create very intricate pieces. But the songs in which you can feel actual emotions and soul transmitted through the music are far more spaced now. If you go back to The Eminem Show, you can feel that throughout pretty much every song of the album. Whereas now you go from an angry Eminem (which we all love, I think) to a robotic one, to a chilled one, then robotic and emotionless. And he chooses to put the technical aspect above everything else.
Aug 19, 2021 I feel like in a perfect world the album would've ended with discombobulated. I feel like he's made a good amount of songs that could've turned Kamikaze into a full length album. Lock it up Zeus unaccomedating book of rhymes favorite b---- these demons sure some of the would have references that wouldn't fit but ignore that throw those songs in Kamikaze and makes it that much better.
Aug 19, 2021 My major complaint now is that ems reallg gotta start doing the majority of his hooks again sometimes it works but most of the time it just ruins the vibe of the song. These demons is f---ing great but every time that chorus comes in it just feels so random.
