May 17, 2023 with the sole exception of utg, i think pretty much every song he’s dropped after the chlora remix sucks. all lazy, uninspired, unoriginal, pointless rhetoric, every f---ing line is either about critics or groupies. while using surprise drops to hide his label’s inability to afford advertising. not to even mention the rhymes are dumbed down to a couple syllables, he’s disregarded most of his trademark introspection, he’s no longer experimenting with new sounds, and he’s completely abandoned the revolutionary new inspirational rap genre he’d been creating with songs like legacy, rap god, gof, knd, phenomenal, speedom, medicine man, believe, and the chlora remix. i wanted to like kamikaze, i wanted to like killshot, i wanted to like kickoff. i tried to like them. i really tried. but after hearing a feature length LP like revival, with high level concepts and production, even with half of the album being an unlistenable trainwreck, at least he tried being original. and the good songs together equal a hella good record. kamikaze seems like an afterthought. no sonic cohesion whatsoever and spends the whole album bitching and whining about the opinions of people who don’t even care about him or hiphop. meanwhile his label currently doesn’t even believe in his tryhard era enough to advertise with any more than a raven emoji on reddit. and now i’m listening to curtain call f---ing 2. with no new songs. not even fack 2. it’s kind of ironic this all took this direction, considering i spent twenty years here being the only one defending “new em.” lol. i am really praying this new album is a return to form, especially considering this cool j song is likely a decade old by now

May 17, 2023 1, he killed it, it's just too long but Em loves stealing the show by having the longer verse now. 2, really doubt Em will be involved other than on the soundtrack. I bet that's what 50's thinking of.
