Sep 9, 2021 A lot of people who hate haven't actually dived into Em's catalogue. They just listen to the shock value stuff like "My Name is" and disregard him as a shock value rapper/ pop artist who only raps about raping his momma. But you have to get to the meaningful songs to see why he's considered a legend. No only that, but his pen game of course.
Sep 9, 2021 100%, bro. That song was deep af. What's even more crazy is the fact that he has produced a lot of his best songs himself. Beyond that, he also writes the hooks for singers on his songs. Like Rihanna for example. Those hooks were written by Em. The lyrics and how the hook should sound is all him. He wrote/produced songs for many artists for free. And that includes the likes of Jay-Z and Nas. That's the definition of a true artist. Not many left these days. A lot of rappers can't even write hooks let alone produce their own songs. h---, some rappers even use ghost writers. This guy literally does everything in the studio.
