Mar 21, 2024 not really feeling the way his vocals are eqd in his most recent verses. seems to be constantly flying up and down the the whole mid range of 250-600hz and it sounds way over saturated and over-compressed. you can hear it clearly on doomsday pt ii at 0:59 when that verse comes in. Almost sounds like a telephone effect and then changes back again at 1:08

Mar 21, 2024 I can agree with this to a certain extent. It doesn’t bother me very much but I can’t help but notice it from time to time in his recent music. Even other people here have pointed this out in the past. Some saturation is nice but I’m not sure why they’re overdoing it.

Mar 21, 2024 only reason i can think is his mixing engineer has developed bad hearing over the years due to age/years of loud music or Eminem himself having a big input on how his vocals are mixed and just not having the best musical ear (sonically). He admitted to having tinnitus and that it made him subconsciously start rapping in that high nasally mid range more, but that was years ago. I think he needs a whole new vocal chain imo. He's probably still using his sony c800-g into the Avalon 737 which hes basically been doing since recovery. id love to hear him on a Neumann-U87, through a Drake-eqsue vocal chain
