Apr 9, 2024 I agree, it’s mostly labels and some skitzo artists (Nicki M. and DJ K.) seem to really care. My guess is that it’s about measuring impact and first impressions? I don’t see many lay people or fans caring about it though. I find it an interesting metric just because, but it really doesn’t mean anything. Like you said, Long term promo and album quality really makes the difference as a fan, that’s what maintains hype and interest in the long run. Probs Dua will have more first week sales this album because of her last ones long term success
Apr 9, 2024 Unfortunately, some people enjoy seeing the hype on social media/these forums when it drops. That makes any album release better. Doesn't hit the same if you wake up and listen to it the next day. I speak for all fans when I say we are tired of staying up every Thursday!

Start the day fresh with fresh Eminem is definitely better than being tired and not able to catch the lyrics he spitting because your brain is fried.

Apr 9, 2024 That's not what I'm saying lol. It's fun to be awake when the album drops to see the hype and online reactions. Its just my opinion but seeing reactions when Kami dropped on Twt, Kendrick's diss, many more examples. It doesn't hit the same the next day, sadly!
