Jun 20, 2024 MMLP2 isn't cohesive at all. It's similar to Revival in that it has an abundance of mismatching rap styles, tones, production styles, musical styles. It's all over the place. Rap God... The Monster Either of them... vs. So Much Better Any of them vs... So Far It's all over the place. Survival. Brainless. Then he did similar again with Revival, it's like he tested it a bit with mmlp2, probably as he was going all over the place trying to find the right vibe, which he said himself. Then on Revival he was truly lost and tried to do a bit of everything for everyone to the max. And it's a disaster. How is it more cohesive then Kamikaze - every track sounds at home there. I know some say 'Stepping Stone' doesn't but I disagree. It's not identical/in-line with some of the vibe of say 'Greatest' but his tonality and production tones are similar, it still sounds like it was made in the same time period, headspace, writing and rap style and for the same album. Nothing sticks out badly... Same with Side A especially, and mostly Side B. But Side A especially I think is cohesive AF and his best 'album', as an album since... Relapse.
